The Judicial Investigation Commission charged Republican state Supreme Court Justice Allen Loughry with 32 counts of malfeasance in office.

In 2006, Loughry wrote the book on political corruption West Virginia, "Don't Buy Another Vote, I Won't Pay for a Landslide."

The book was used to lobby lawmakers into an experiment with taxpayer-funded campaigning. Lo and behold, it passed and Loughry was the only one to apply for the money, which he used to get elected to the state's highest court.
