Vatican warns bishops not to deny communion to Biden, politicians over abortion

The Vatican cautioned American bishops against denying communion to politicians, including President Biden, over their support for abortion rights.
The New York Times reported Pope Francis has warned that communion can’t be used as a political weapon by Catholic bishops. Biden is the second Catholic president in U.S. history, following President John F. Kennedy.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will convene their three-day June General Assembly starting on Wednesday and are expected to force debate and a vote on the issue of communion, despite the pope’s warning.
“The concern in the Vatican is not to use access to the Eucharist as a political weapon,” Antonio Spadaro, a Jesuit priest and ally of the pope, told the Times.
Earlier this month, the pope spoke about communion as “not the reward of saints, but the bread of sinners,” the Times also reported.
Biden’s support for abortion rights has often been in the spotlight since it’s at odds with some leaders of the Catholic Church. Biden has been open about his devotion to his Catholic faith and attends Mass most weekends.

Anti-Christ long ago was used as a term to mean anti-Christian and was applied to a great many people. In these days of the End Times, it is more often used towards a particular infamous person-leader,who comes before the Christ.

In a story June 14, 2021, about Joe Biden and Pope Francis, the Catholic News Agency, based on information provided by a source, erroneously reported that the U.S. President would meet with the pope on June 15. According to Vatican sources June 15, there is no meeting currently scheduled between Pope Francis and President Joe Biden.
A corrected version of the story is below:
President Joe Biden’s attendance at early morning Mass with Pope Francis was nixed from an early plan for the first meeting of both leaders, a reliable Vatican source told CNA.
President Biden is currently in Europe for several high level meetings, offering a potential opportunity to meet with Pope Francis. According to Vatican sources June 15, there is no meeting currently scheduled between the two men. ...

Having had some experience with both the Christian Church/Disciples of Christ and Presbyterian Church USA denominations, I'd say the Pope is trying to follow their example of ignoring Scripture altogether. (We left the PCUSA in 2015).

Yes, it has been said for some time that this will be the last pope, but my interpretation has always been that he will be the last pope because of end times. With his socialistic ideologies and going against the Church, I have little doubt.
