I just can't bring myself to cast a vote for Trump.  I'll vote down ballot instead, if I vote at all. I've not missed an election, but I'm thoroughly disgusted with the failure of the RNC and GOP to ensure election integrity. I'm to the realization that my vote doesn't mean a darn thing. Notta.

Maybe if Trump has an epiphany in the months ahead by discovering that his own liberal policies not only led to a string of Republican defeats, but also completely trashed our economy, and out of that epiphany decides to adopt real Conservative policies that will put this nation back on track, then and only then will he get my vote.  But unfortunately, he has a cult of supporters who are more than happy with his current liberal policies, so there is really no incentive for him to change.

Not a chance, and the decision was easy this time.  I still regret voting for him in 2020.

Hard pass on the house and senate candidates also.  They would go along with anything he demanded, and would NEVER hold him accountable.

This is true. And any Congressional Republicans that attempted to hold him accountable or didn’t give him everything he wanted, even if they knew many of his ideas don’t work or can’t be paid for,  would risk being primaried  by his MAGAs

Nothing will stand in the way of Trump’s MAGAs getting their checks. Inflation be damned

I would never vote for Democrat. But the ideal situation as of now would be Biden to get reelected, but face a Republican Congress. The two worst situations would be Biden with a Democrat Congress, and Trump with a Republican Congress

I will add that another nightmare scenario would be Donald Trump with a Democrat Congress.

Looking in our own little part of the internet, maybe we are in the minority and Trump has more support out there than I give him credit.  I know of several friends who are going to hold their noses and vote for Trump.  I just know I can't do it.
I stand by my convictions. I can only vote for a conservative or conservatism. There is no longer any room for a moderate (at best), narcissistic populist who will appease the left just to score some point for his own ego.  Trump smeared conservatism, more than once.  Game over.

I voted the stoner option. Right now, today, no I won't vote for Trump. However, there is plenty of time for the Dems to become even crazier this year. This could cause a "fear"  vote.

I took a stubborn stance in 2016. I didn't trust Donald Trump because I knew he had rubbed elbows with leftists and leftism. I assumed he'd had a convenient epiphany regarding conservatism just in time to run for president, so I wrote in the candidate I wanted as president.

By the time 2020 rolled around, I was ready to vote for him because he did a far better job than I thought he would. He was CERTAINLY the more pro-America candidate. I couldn't have known just how much damage one president + his evil party could do in less than ONE TERM. Now I'm scared spitless NOT to vote for Trump or for anyone from the right. Now that I see how frighteningly close to losing our republic we are, I'm willing to settle for a less-than-perfect candidate in hopes that it will give us another opportunity to rebuild the republic. Unless someone stops them, the Dems will push things over the edge. If anyone doesn't understand the urgency of the hour, they're not paying attention.

Read Hegel. Really.

I don't know what you want me to find when I read Hegel. Perhaps you'll spell it out for me. You apparently believe that having Biden (or whatever Dem ends up actually running) is less of a threat than Trump. (BTW, "Tumpy" isn't a cute or clever term, even if you were a 3-year-old girl.  **nononono*)

Also, I don't believe Trump is a true conservative as many of us are. I do believe that he's FAR less dangerous as POTUS than any Democrat. We'll never get a perfect leader. We need to go with the one who'll do the republic the least amount of damage. You needn't mistake me for those full-throated Trumpsters. Instead, I'm someone who will settle for the imperfect when that's the only option we have. That said, I do admire the Energizer Bunny aspect of Trump. I would have ridden off into the sunset, especially given his age and fortune. He could have had a great life and kept the indictments at bay.

Meh. All of Hegel, really, but this summed up in the Hegelian Dialectic _ Controlling both sides of the argument, and therein, the outcome.

It is not by chance that the SWAMP increased under Tumpy... His actions do not match what falls out of his mouth. He us every bit the Washington insider as any of them. Stop paying attention to the big show and look at what they don't want you to see.

Y'all are running headlong with the bit in your teeth, straight into your enemies arms.

There is NO WAY I would believe all y'all would vote for more of the greatest threat to treasure and liberty of all time - By the numbers, on the books, by his record - But you will. Because he's 'not as bad' as Biden.

It is to laugh - The race to the bottom is real. *SMH*

That is why I am going with None of the Above.

I did what @AllThatJazzZ and @pookie18 did.  But after Covid and the abject idiocy that Trump engaged in up to and after the election, I'd had enough.  And I'm not talking about Jan 6.  I'm talking about Trump's inability to put forth a competent legal strategy against all the States that violated their own election laws.  Trump seems to think that holding a giant rally fixes all ills.

Even in the closing argument he just made in one of his court cases, instead of pointing out the legal flaws in his prosecution, he stood before the jury whining about how unfair this is to him.

I didn't vote for him in 2016, but I did go to his inauguration.  I did vote for him in 2020 solely because of the way he stood up to the enemy press.  It is a vote that I will regret for the rest of my life.  I broke my personal rule - 'Never vote for Democrats'.  I will not do that again.

Oh, and btw, on these bits:

You apparently believe that having Biden (or whatever Dem ends up actually running) is less of a threat than Trump.

No, I believe supporting big government on the Right is more dangerous than anything. ANYTHING. Because who then will defend small government? And without that, will go every single one of your liberties - As Tumpy has already demonstrated... And the government he left to Bidem continues to demonstrate. It's the same damn government.

Precisely, and intentionally... There to illustrate. Because you are ready to vote for one with such a mentality, who uses exactly those sorts of epithets ALL THE TIME... For president of the friggin United States.. But you criticize me?

That is the height of absurdity, and exactly why I use the term without end. The hypocrisy is lovely - And you are by no means the only one.  :seeya:

I'm not going to fault you because you haven't read or remembered my posts concerning Trump's childish and classless name-calling. There are numerous Briefers posting numerous things over numerous months/years. It's difficult for the poster him/herself to remember their own posts. But you're wrong to assume I don't take Trump to task. I do and I have, but we've moved into a new reality since the Iowa Caucus. It appears that Trump is going to be the Republican candidate, and all my protests aren't going to change that. I may not be getting what I want, but I can make decisions based on what I believe is best for the country and for me. If the facts change, I can re-examine my position. For the time being, I'm willing to vote for Trump and pray that an candidate more of my choosing will be our choice in 2028. I'll also be praying that a Dem doesn't "win" the presidency, as the likelihood of one-party rule will be given a strong foothold by the time 2028 rolls around.

I am not. I will no longer support the scheme that ALWAYS puts a big government compliant dolt in the white house. Not Tumpy per se... But he's just another in a long line, isn't he? I will not continue down a path that has done naught but fill the Republicans from stem to stern with RINOs, rendering it neutered. They are no opposition. They are not fighting for me or for you.

Your argument is not valid - merely a distinction in decision about the wallpaper on the Titanic.

The only way we don't wind up socialist is with a small government - And the only way that is going to happen is to start voting for it to reclaim the Right. There is no stop-gap, because every time you settle for big government on the Right, you further anneal and confirm the 'new' direction  -  You get MORE of what you vote *FOR*, and small government - fiscal responsibility... Conservatism - is completely off the table and will remain forever thus, unless it is demanded.

I will vote for Conservatives, and nothing else. I will not aid in the destruction of this great country.

Nothing has been done to stop fraud in the "battleground" States.

Over 7 million potential fraudulent voters have been distributed nationwide.

By reviewing those often egregious mistakes of last time, the whole election stealing apparatus will have been refined, the algorithms updated, and the rough spots buffed out. I'd wager those machines can be updated on the fly, leaving little or no need for a halt in counting, like the five halted states which incidentally, also flipped from Trump to Biden.

With some rewriting, those votes can be flipped as need be to achieve a desired outcome with no further input.

Anyone who wants to be in denial that Biden stole the election last time is free to do so, and with eight years of demonization in the press and general weariness of an electorate tired of everything being blamed on Trump, it is likely that the (real) margins of 2020 will not even need to be overcome.

Explain why you believe that.

Trump has only increased is solid no votes making more enemies. The only chance he has is if somehow the Democrat vote gets split taking more Biden votes than Trump votes.

For me, I will not vote for more of the same.

If the choice is a Democrat or Trump then I will vote for neither.

Either choice leaves us with $43+ trillion in debt.  Doesn't matter which one.  The result will be the same.  More Big Government.  More debt.  More inflation.
