Antifa has issued a call to arms for protestors to light up New York City on Friday night, as America braces for violent riots nationwide following the release of the Tyre Nichols bodycam footage.
A poster obtained by DailyMail.com shows the group calling upon demonstrators to gather at various locations in the Big Apple and 'Burn It All Down'.
Cities across America are anticipating widespread protests following the release of the distressing footage, which will be posted to the Memphis Police Department's YouTube page at 7pm.
Federal employees in Memphis and Portland have been told to go home early, and workers have begun boarding up buildings. The mayor of New York City on Friday evening urged protesters to remain peaceful, and NYPD has made extensive preparations, including asking officers to stay on and work overtime when their shift finishes on Friday.
The Nichols family has urged those angered by the footage to remain calm, emphasizing that they support the judicial process and approve of the firing of the five officers. They have stressed that Nichols himself would have hated to see rioting in his name.

Stupid, indeed. All of this was studied during the riots of the 60s. How to get the crowds off the streets and keep them there, curfews, 'looters will be shot' policies, National Guard deployment, fire hoses, all of it.
It is ridiculous that every time one demographic gets killed, warranted or not, cities across the country erupt in flames. No more free passes.
If the police won't do it, leave town for a week, and pick up the mess when you get back.

Yeah, there is gonna be a sh*tstorm. Just from the first video, there were a number of bad hits (and kicks) administered that did not appear to be necessary. Two cops holding the perp so others could kick him in the head and beat him, is way over the top.
They spend a lot of time 'walking off' the adrenaline rush, and that makes me wonder if they are juicing.

...Even if Nichols did not yield on moving his hands behind his back, the level of escalation is chilling including the use of both a taser and pepper spray. It shows Nichols running a fair distance.

Tyre Nichols was out of his mind and lacked self control. Tazing and pepper spray did little to stop Trye's resistance and non-compliance.
The cops were slow to cuff him. They stood around for a long time catching their breaths while Tyre was cuffed and propped up against the car. They were slow to call an ambulance. Their conduct was unprofessional and some force was excessive.
I think a couple of the cops' attorneys may be able to put up some defense for the intial response.
There's no defense for the kicks to the head, the beating with the batton, and the delay in getting an ambulance there. These will be the things that will lead to 2nd degree murder and kidnapping convictions.

The Shelby County sheriff’s office has placed two deputies on administrative leave following the release of bodycam footage Friday evening of a traffic stop on Jan. 7, showing officers severely beat 29-year-old Tyre Nichols. He later died of his injuries.
Shelby County Sheriff Floyd Bonner, Jr. said he decided to launch an internal investigation after watching the video.
"Having watched the videotape for the first time tonight, I have concerns about two deputies who appeared on the scene following the physical confrontation between police and Tyre Nichols," Bonner said on Twitter.
He added: "I have launched an internal investigation into the conduct of these deputies to determine what occurred and if any policies were violated. Both of these deputies have been relieved of duty pending the outcome of this administrative investigation.

Five former Memphis police officers are being charged with second-degree murder in the death of Nichols

The Memphis Police Department announced on Saturday that it has permanently deactivated its "Scorpion Unit" after the death of Tyre Nichols.
Members of the Scorpion Unit were involved in the traffic stop on Jan. 7 that officials say led to Nichols dying at a local hospital days later.
"Today, Memphis Police Officers assigned to the SCORPION Unit (Street Crimes Operations to Restore Peace in Our Neighborhoods) met with Chief Cerelyn 'C.J.' Davis to discuss the path forward for the department and the community in the aftermath of the tragic death of Tyre Nichols," Memphis police said in a statement. "In the process of listening intently to the family of Tyre Nichols, community leaders, and the uninvolved officers who have done quality work in their assignments, it is in the best interest of all to permanently deactivate the SCORPION Unit."

There also are plenty of laws against assault, murder and the like, but somehow we need the federal government to pass more laws, e.g., the George Floyd law, as if that will prevent any of this from happening in the future. It's like tacking a hate crime onto any other indictment, as if, oooh, now you've really done it! You committed a hate crime (on top of the beating, stabbing and shooting you already did to that innocent black/white/Jew/Asian/fill in the blank).

You were taught wrong. Nobody deserves to be beaten to death for mere non-compliance.
Having said that,NEVER give the po-po even the SLIGHTEST excuse to start beating on you because chances are they will get away with it. Answer any questions they might ask without being belligerent in any respect to insure you don't give them ANY "reason" to start "thumping on your pumpkin".

Yup,and in MY opinion,we need to hold the police to higher standards than the criminals they arrest. There was NO excuse for them to beat him to death. NONE whatsoever.
