Title: Conservative students ‘swatted’ as officers swarm dorm over false report
Post by: PeteS in CA on December 18, 2019, 11:13:39 pm
St. Olaf College in Minnesota has received some attention in the past couple of years over one or more hoax hate-crimes and the administration responding as if they were real even after being exposed. And there have been other Prog-shenanigans happening there as well (just Search "Olaf"). So this escalation in Prog shenanigans should not be a surprise:

Conservative students ‘swatted’ as officers swarm dorm over false report

Quote
NORTHFIELD, Minn. — Several conservative students at St. Olaf College had their lives turned upside down Sunday after a false report that alleged that they had guns and ammunition in their dorm prompted campus public safety officers to enter their home and ransack it.

Despite the students telling the officers they had no guns and no ammunition and felt they were the victims of a malicious prank — as right-of-center students have faced open hostility on campus for several years — the officers continued to raid the dorm and upend many of its contents.
...
However a public statement to students put out by a dean on Tuesday actually praised those who called in the false threat, this despite the fact that officers had found nothing and the College Republicans told administrators they suspect they were targeted for their beliefs.

Since the college basically approved of the politically-motivated SWATting - i.e. is complicit in it and encouraging more of the same - those students need to punch back, with lawsuits.

For those not familiar with such nuances, St. Olaf College is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Despite their denominational name, ELCA is theologically very liberal and quickly trending more so. I suppose that hoaxes like this kind of demonstrate the character of the institution - the college and the denomination. The two major Lutheran denominations in the US that are theologically conservative are the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
