Title: Presidential Rallies and President Trump
Post by: Machiavelli on October 23, 2018, 01:16:43 am
How often have Presidents held rallies after they became President?
OK. I admit that those are rhetorical questions on my part. I don't like Trump personally and I think he wastes a lot of time with these rallies, but overall, I like his policies. Contrast this with the fact that I liked George W. Bush but did not like many of his policies.

I think he is trying to get people that will help him get elected next time.

That might not be a bad thing.

Since his election, it looks like President Tweety has done:

* Eight rallies on his so-called "Thank You" tour following his election.
* Ten rallies from his inauguration through the end of December 2017.
* 39 rallies from 10 March 2018 through two days ago.

That's 57 rallies since he was elected.

Donald Trump is a populist, and those rallies are important for him I think. They supercharge his most loyal supporters.

Not half as much as they supercharge his ego.

You may be right. I can't say I wouldn't get a little addicted to thousands of adoring people screaming my name and wearing it on their clothing.  Either way I think it was definitely the giant rallies that secured him the presidency.

Depending on the person(s) involved, it actually is known to get wearing and draining after the initial fun of it wears off. Just ask the Beatles.

You. Understand. Nothing.

But haters gotta hate.
