"Ironically, the Wall Street Journal recently reported that the Trump campaign is considering a separate series of policy proposals intended to “blunt” the Fed’s independence. But if Trump’s proposals for greater tariffs would exacerbate inflation (and they would), modern monetary theory poses a far greater risk to the economy and to the Federal Reserve."

An argument for Trump's fiscal policies v. Biden's economic disasters.  Both are a train wreck.

Neither are going to resolve the quagmire that we are in; neither are going to be good for this country.

Then there's also the argument that we cannot sustain the ILLEGAL invasion.....

I wish there were brighter days ahead ... but another 4 years is a very, very long time and I just don't think we're going to be able to dig ourselves out of the hole that we are suffocating in.

Hamas accepts cease-fire deal to halt war against Israel

The Hamas terrorist group announced Monday that it has accepted a cease-fire agreement brokered by Egypt and Qatar to end the war against Israel in the Gaza Strip.

It released a statement saying its leader Ismail Haniyeh "had a phone call with the Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani, and with the Egyptian Minister of Intelligence, Mr. Abbas Kamel, and informed them of the Hamas movement’s approval of their proposal regarding the ceasefire agreement."

There was no immediate response from Israel. The fate of the hostages still in Hamas' possession following its Oct. 7 attack on Israel that launched the war remains uncertain.

Great.point!

MAGA tells us how unimportant fiscal discipline is, and that it is old-fashioned of us to care about it anymore.

Except when it comes to aiding Ukraine, though.  Then suddenly, MAGA becomes all about out of control spending , fiscal cliffs, etc, .  And I'm not taking about consistent budget hawks like some folks here, Rand Paul, etc.  I'm referring specifically to the MAGA crowd that dismisses, and even mocks, our concerns about Trump's spending.

Maybe MAGA's opposition to helping Ukraine is really about something other than fiscal discipline.  Oh hell, I don't think there's much of a maybe about.  It's what I've thought pretty much since that war began.  Even where it is isn't pro-Russia sentiment, it's definitely anti-Ukraine.

It has to do with that Trump hates Ukraine. If Trump supported Ukraine, MAGA would be in full support.

President Joe Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday as Israel prepares to launch new military operations in Gaza.

According to the White House, Biden reaffirmed his commitment to Israel to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day, and the two leaders additionally discussed how to “forcefully act against antisemitism and all forms of hate-fueled violence.”

“President Biden updated the Prime Minister on efforts to secure a hostage deal, including through ongoing talks today in Doha, Qatar,” White House officials said in a statement. “The Prime Minister agreed to ensure the Kerem Shalom crossing is open for humanitarian assistance for those in need. The President reiterated his clear position on Rafah.”

Biden is scheduled to deliver televised remarks Tuesday at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Days of Remembrance at the Capitol on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, CIA Director Bill Burns is traveling to the Middle East this week to continue discussions about hostage and ceasefire negotiations.

Why would the public ever trust media outlets who are ‘surprised’ that leftists support both Joe Biden and the destruction of Israel?
By Jack Hellner

It is a sad state of affairs to read a Politico journalist say that it is “surprising” to learn that donors to Joe Biden also support the destruction of Israel and the killing of Jews; see below:

Pro-Palestinian protesters are backed by a surprising source: Biden’s biggest donors

Some of the most outspoken groups against Biden and Israel get funding from foundations attached to some of the biggest names in Democratic circles.

President Joe Biden has been dogged for months by pro-Palestinian protesters calling him ‘Genocide Joe’ — but some of the groups behind the demonstrations receive financial backing from philanthropists pushing hard for his reelection.

The donors include some of the biggest names in Democratic circles: Soros, Rockefeller and Pritzker, according to a POLITICO analysis.

Two of the organizers supporting the protests at Columbia University and on other campuses are Jewish Voice for Peace and IfNotNow. Both are supported by the Tides Foundation, which is seeded by Democratic megadonor George Soros and was previously supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It in turn supports numerous small nonprofits that work for social change.

Have reporters had their heads stuck in the sand for years? They live in a delusional world. They pretend that Biden is doing a great job and are surprised that the American people aren’t as enamored with Biden as they are.

Barack Obama and Biden, along with their administrations, have done their best to build up Iran’s finances for years—this pro-Iran deal was Obama’s “legacy.” And Iran, along with its terrorist beneficiaries, have had the twin goals of death to Israel and death to America for years.

So why would it be a surprise that the people who support Obama and Biden would also support the protesters wreaking anti-Jew havoc across the nation?

The article doesn't give exact dates, but it sounds like Rubin's MoH-worthy action was during the Battle of the Pusan Perimeter, at the beginning of the Korean War, when US/UN forces were backed against the sea, literally.

What these people want is to liberate the world from Modernity, and from representative self-governance. What they want to institute is authoritarian control by world elites, with them as presumed recipients of goods and services stolen from the productive classes.

The innate human desire for freedom from responsibility and for the unearned is never satiated, but instead can only be controlled and moderated by the belief in individual liberty and personal responsibility, and enforced by the rule of law.

Both human freedom and the rule of law are what these people are fighting against.
