What Is Dopamine?

Some street drugs can mimic the effects of dopamine, an important neurotransmitter.

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps send signals in the brain.

It's also classified as a catecholamine, a type of hormone that includes norepinephrine and epinephrine (adrenaline).
