Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow shut down MSNBC host Brian Williams on Thursday after Williams questioned if Attorney General William Barr misled the public by saying special counsel Robert Mueller's report concluded that there was no evidence of collusion by Trump.
Williams asked Sekulow where Barr got "the characterization" that there was no collusion, asking "what document was he reading compared to the one we're left with?"
Sekulow, with a copy of the Mueller report on hand, said that Mueller's conclusion was stated in various places throughout the document.
"Well, page two of the document says the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign coordinated with the Russian government. It's right from the document itself," Sekulow responded to a bewildered Williams.
Williams then pressed Trump's lawyer on whether he believes the administration views the Mueller report as positive for Trump.
Sekulow pointed back to the report's findings.
"The investigation, page 181, it did not establish the contacts described in volume one. That's the Russian contacts admitted to commit any violation of foreign law. I think it's very good win," he said.
After the back-and-forth, Williams gave up pressing Sekulow and turned to MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace to continue questioning the Trump lawyer.

There was collusion and so much collusion that we’re swimming it! That’s according to bombastic CNN host Chris Cuomo and washed up Watergate-era reporter Carl Bernstein. Not only was there “a ton of collusion†but if you didn’t realize that after reading the Mueller Report, you’re just not that smart and too political, they declared late Thursday afternoon.
Despite the many “bombshells†reports that blew up in the media’s collective faces over the last two years, Bernstein insisted the Special Counsel report was “the connective tissue that explains everything almost we've been reporting over the past two years.â€
Among their false narratives was there claim President Trump colluded with Russia and was really a Russian spy asset. According to Bernstein they only people who could see that evidence in Robert Mueller’s report were smart, good people: “It’s here in substance, in nuance, in context and it is there for all people of good will in this country, if they are not so dug in politically or ideologically to process information and make some sophisticated judgments about the behavior of everybody I've mentioned here.â€
Cuomo was in full agreement that only smart people could find collusion in the report. He even argued that Mueller had found so much collusion that you shouldn’t try to deny it: . . .

This one takes the cake. It's the story of the Emperor's New Clothes, except that when the little boy states the obvious that the emperor is not wearing clothes, Bernstein doubles down by saying that the boy is not sophisticated enough to see them.
