John Kerry Pushes Massive Tax Rises to Meet the $13.6 trillion Climate Finance Challenge

Essay by Eric Worrall

Squeezing the global economy dry to solve a fake problem.

The $13.6 trillion question: how do we pay for the green transition?

The public sector will have to provide about 30 per cent of climate finance globally, and the heat is building on governments to come up with ways of doing that.

The bill will be immense. If average global temperature rises are to be limited in line with the 2015 Paris Agreement, climate finance globally will need to increase to about $US9 trillion ($13.6 trillion) a year globally by 2030, up from just under $US1.3 trillion in 2021-22, according to a report last year from the Climate Policy Initiative.

Former US presidential candidate John Kerry, who stepped down from his role as the US special climate envoy in March, puts the challenge of meeting this bluntly: “We don’t have the money.”

The 80-year-old is now planning to turn his attention to climate finance to prepare for the phaseout of fossil fuels. “We have to put in place more rapidly the funding mechanisms that are going to actually fuel this transition at the pace it needs to be,” he says.

While this board is an ‘advisory’ board for the school, they do have the power of the purse and I think they used it quite well this time.

I wonder how much Biden was willing to "incentivize" Obrador to SAY he's in on the plan?  Think about it, he can unload his entire prison population and it's costs by making his thugs "migrants" to the US!  Plus, he can make more money by allowing the prison populations of his friends south of the border through Mejico, for "donations" to his favorite charity - himself.

65+ seniors are going to outnumber children by 2030. The answer is quite clear. Do you want a few Jose's in your town, Christian, pro family, strong work ethic or your SS/Medicare and pension plan collapse without  huge tax increases and benefit cuts. That is the choice.

Border enforcers skeptical of Biden, Mexican president’s quick-fix migrant crackdowns with elections looming: ‘Too little too late’
Story by Jennie Taer • 13h

Leaders on both sides of the US-Mexico border are cracking down on illegal immigration as a way to score political points ahead of upcoming presidential elections, sources have revealed to The Post.

Mexican President Manuel López Obrador and President Joe Biden spoke on April 28 and agreed to take swift action “to immediately implement concrete measures” on border matters.

Following the call, the Biden administration rolled out new restrictions for asylum interviews taking place at the southern border which would allow officers to quickly remove migrants who don’t prove they have a “credible fear” of returning to their home country from the US.

Meanwhile, Mexico, which is holding elections on June 2, has been pulling migrants off trains and buses headed towards the US and also carrying out more deportations as part of the recent agreement.

Are there no work farms? Gov handouts.  If they would rather die, they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.  Make room for our new "visitors" Biden is welcoming.
