Southwest Florida to receive more than $23 million for Hurricane Irma damages

Governor Ron DeSantis announced Thursday more than $84 million has been awarded to 21 communities, some in Southwest Florida, impacted by Hurricane Irma in Florida to help fund infrastructure restoration.

The funding is coming from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity's (DEO) Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program. The money will also help infrastructure improvement projects in the communities impacted by disasters.

DeSantis made the announcement in the Florida Keys, where Hurricane Irma left severe damage. ...............

I applaud Florida in doing this the right way.  Even though it is a natural disaster.

It is a state, not a federal, issue and the state is taking care of its own.

Unlike a state like California which wants all other states to contribute to its homeless problem that it itself caused.
