Facts gaining ground on climate

CFACT publishes a monthly climate fact check in concert with allies dedicated to correcting the record on climate.

The latest fact check debunks false narratives on global temperature, Kenyan rain, Antarctic meteorites, coral, atmospheric rivers, Indian floods, and more.

Exaggerations, misleading narratives and outright lies are “Team Climate’s” stock and trade.  That’s why they put so much effort into working to present one-sided narratives and suppress dissent.

Facts, however, remain powerful things.

CFACT’s friend Joanne Nova reports that, “there was a 17% fall in the number of 18 to 34-year-olds who call ‘climate change’ a very serious problem. Even though there were hottest-ever-headlines month after month, the punters lost the faith.”

People are opening their eyes and moving beyond climate dogma.

With all the whack jobs infesting airlines these days, will it be worth it?  You have to believe people who physically attack the Constitution and the Magna Charta someday will destroy an airborne plane to "make their point." :thud:

Transatlantic air fares to jump under net zero fuel rules
MAY 19, 2024

Yet one more cost for Net Zero:

The cost of a return trip to New York is on track to rise by £40 as a result of incoming net zero regulations, according to figures from Virgin Atlantic.

The extra burden on travellers is expected if the cost of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is passed on directly. Calculations by Virgin Atlantic, a pioneer in using the greener jet fuel, show that ticket prices would have to rise 6pc.

For a return flight to New York that would amount to a £40 increase at current prices, based on two one-way fares costing about £350 each.

SAF is a refined blend of waste oils, animal fats and ethanol from corn. The fuel is viewed as the most practical route towards reducing aviation’s net CO2 emission before completely new technologies, such as hydrogen propulsion, become available next decade or beyond.

Joe Bastardi: The Glory of God vs the Folly of Man in Climate & Why the Weather is Being Weaponized

By Joe Bastardi

Aristotle argues, in Book 8 of the Physics and Book 12 of the Metaphysics, “that there must be an immortal, unchanging being, ultimately responsible for all wholeness and orderliness in the sensible world”.[4]

The weather and climate are always examples of this, What we refer to as source regions are unmoved movers, but there is always something behind it. The weather you see today began long ago through a series of events that in totality may be the unmoved mover. Weather and Climate are spiritual affirmations to me, and I think of it that way. They are not my Gods, they are evidence of God, So I see God’s hand in them each day. From Horizon to Horizon with my limited vision, but an increasing realm due to the advancement of science in the total aspect. After all an infinite God implies the creation of a infinite set of possibilities. Man in his finite mind is foolish to think he knows enough to be able to counter God’s design.  All of these in the design of nature are laid out for man to search for and hopefully see God’s hand in them and turn to them. Nothing that you see today has been created anew. All was nere before. As men, we have used these materials to advance ourselves which is what a mighty and merciful God wants. Once one sees the glory of God in a matter, the gratitude develops and the bond with God strengthens. A little more of the unmoved mover is revealed. Such is the spiritual nature of weather and climate, and when one thinks about it all the challenges we face, they are there by design, to coax us into striving toward this higher being. But not to think we are the higher being. which is where the folly of man comes in

In seeking to control, not make use of, the natural gifts bestowed upon us for the reasons above ( the advancement of man) one has to answer the question of what is pollution. There is no raw material on earth that was not in some form here from the beginning. What is now here, that was not, are the products of that raw material. As stewards of the planet, we are charged with taking care of the planet. So polluting the planet is the opposite of that.

Solar Scams Mushroom As Homeowners Get Duped With Clean Energy Loans
by Breanne Deppisch  2 days ago in Extreme Weather, Green Energy, News Reading Time: 4 mins read

Consumers are falling prey to scams that have proliferated under largely unregulated loan programs designed to help homeowners make energy-efficient upgrades to their properties. [emphasis, links added]

Consumer groups allege the program is often used to sign consumers on to high-risk, high-interest rate loans, often with little knowledge of the terms of repayment or the possibilities of mortgage default and foreclosure.

Residential Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) programs are a type of loan overseen by state or local governments that allows private lenders to fund certain energy-efficient and renewable energy projects that often carry high upfront costs.

These projects range from the installation of solar panels or more efficient doors and windows to water efficiency upgrades and in-home electric vehicle charging.

It's not "climate change," per se, that's doing the damage but the various governments' absurd destruction of its own energy industries and economies to combat an imaginary "crisis."

America’s Power Grid Could Buckle Under Sweltering Summer Heat, Watchdog Warns

Considerable portions of the U.S. are facing heightened risks of blackouts over the summer months, according to a new report by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC).

Most of New England, Texas, the Midwest and the Southwest face “elevated risk” of electricity shortages this summer if demand peaks at levels above normal, according to NERC’s 2024 summer reliability report. While the specific challenges that each region may face this summer differ, several large swaths of the country could have to respond to blackout conditions if solar and wind power fail to produce as much power as expected during periods of tight supply and more extreme summer weather.

“NERC’s latest reliability assessment shows that our electricity grid is becoming increasingly reliant on weather-dependent sources of electricity, leaving one-third of the country at elevated risk of blackouts this summer,” Michelle Bloodworth, CEO of America’s Power, a pro-coal advocacy group, said of the NERC report and its findings. Economic damage from climate change six times worse than thought – report
A 1C increase in global temperature leads to a 12% decline in world gross domestic product, researchers have found

Oliver Milman

The economic damage wrought by climate change is six times worse than previously thought, with global heating set to shrink wealth at a rate consistent with the level of financial losses of a continuing permanent war, research has found.

A 1C increase in global temperature leads to a 12% decline in world gross domestic product (GDP), the researchers found, a far higher estimate than that of previous analyses. The world has already warmed by more than 1C (1.8F) since pre-industrial times and many climate scientists predict a 3C (5.4F) rise will occur by the end of this century due to the ongoing burning of fossil fuels, a scenario that the new working paper, yet to be peer-reviewed, states will come with an enormous economic cost.

A 3C temperature increase will cause “precipitous declines in output, capital and consumption that exceed 50% by 2100” the paper states. This economic loss is so severe that it is “comparable to the economic damage caused by fighting a war domestically and permanently”, it adds.
