The Briefingroom Polls / Re: Will Trump win NY?
« Last post by Cyber Liberty on Today at 02:55:45 am »
Winning the popular vote in Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania means everything.  And it will be difficult to do when running a candidate with such high disapproval numbers.

Yes, state totals are important, but the popular vote of the entire nation means bupkis.

Boy would this tick off Biden and his leftist cohorts...  popcorn :2popcorn:
No SHIITE! Think of the repercussions of all law abiding Americans, that want to, being able to carry a weapon for personal protection? The lefts entitled class, criminals, wouldn't know which potential victim was safe to attack and which might kill them, why crime would go down, especially violent assaults. I think all the tears from the left and criminals would be a beautiful thing  happy77

Time to hire a lawyer and lay waste to that veterinarian.

I'd be on the warpath.

The original headline read:  "Man sets strap hanger on fire..."

I thought...WTF??

Now today, I read the SCOTUS is considering an emergency session to end all gun permits....when they mean "...as a requirement to conceal carry them"

Again...WTF???
Well I don't think there was ever a requirement for a permit to carry a gun concealed or open during the period that comes under the Bruen decision test, of course I think the best New Yorkers(or other blue state residents) can hope for is that the permit policy is less restrictive.

The Supreme Court in the 2022 case New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen1 considered the constitutionality of a portion of New York’s handgun licensing regime relating to concealed-carry licenses for self-defense. The laws at issue in the case generally required a New York resident wishing to possess a firearm in public to get a “carry” license authorizing concealed carry, which typically required the license applicant to show “proper cause” —for carry unrelated to specific purposes like hunting or target practice, a “special need for self-protection distinguishable from that of the general community.” 2

The lower court in Bruen upheld the challenged laws based on the two-step inquiry described above,3 but in a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court reversed.4 The majority opinion, authored by Justice Thomas, began by addressing the proper standard for evaluating Second Amendment challenges to firearm regulations and rejected the two-step framework that “combines history with means-end scrutiny.” 5 In the majority’s view, the two-step approach was inconsistent with Heller, which focused on text and history and “did not invoke any means-end test such as strict or intermediate scrutiny.” 6 As such, the Court concluded that the standard for applying the Second Amendment is rooted solely in text and history, stating the test as follows:

Woman finds her 'euthanized' puppy up for adoption a year later - now she wants him back

Story by Claire Anderson

In a heart-wrenching incident, a distraught dog-owner found that her much-loved pet was up for adoption nearly a year after she had made the painful decision to put him down.

Kristie Pereira, 32, received a devastating prognosis for her puppy Beau from a veterinarian who suggested the pup was dealing with an incurable neurological issue predicted only to worsen over time.

However, Kristie was stunned to discover him listed on the website of the pet rescue center where Beau was initially adopted, almost a year after she'd painfully decided to euthanize him.

Kirstie was dealt a further emotional blow when the center declined to return Beau to her.
Overwhelmed with grief, she recounted: "The person that called me was so rude and just disrespectful and just being really nasty towards me. Just saying that I abandoned him, and that I left him to die. That I never cared about him. I want him back with me."
