A “Buy American” proposal that had drawn the ire of Canadian officials has been scaled back and could be announced as a deal as early as Tuesday, legislative leaders said.

The new proposal would give preference to American companies when the state buys steel and iron in contracts worth over $1 million.

The proposal is significantly revised since Canadian officials strongly objected…

Support?

Heck, the whole point of this is that AMERICA is the one that needs to be propped up.  It can't compete with Canada, so NY wanted to tilt the playing field against Canada.

Why is it that nothing's ever about the USA being better than others--it's always whining to get a handout?
