First the obvious disclaimer. Maher was there to hawk a book, and not give any indication of changing ideological teams.  Quite a price to land him for the show.  GG allowed him an entire block to allow him to discuss.  Still,  this is the biggest high profile guest he's landed.

I think the intent was showing that there is a lot of agreement, if we forego and tone down the rhetoric.  Show did try to focus on agreeing, rather than red meat that Gutfeld throws to the crowd.  Common ground. seemed the theme.

Mahner did go into his Trump insurrectionist rant. He also made a point that it was important to differentiate Liberalism and "Woke".  He seems to think that the two really need to be decoupled.

Over all, minimal friction.   And I for one, have always thought that Maher was 75% reasonable, and a TV political pundit that is a rare rational Liberal.  Disagree with him 95% of the time,  still, he often provides an interesting take to the counter POV.

Thank you!

Folks, there's a completely different way to handle the unionized and civil service appointees.

A way I'm absolutely sure that NONE of you would have ever thought of.

It's possible to render EVERY federal agency toothless in the matter of a week. To render them ineffective, without having to fire anybody (other than those who "serve at the pleasure of the president".

Y'all -- every one of you -- can only see the "obvious in front of you".
(That includes almost every [so-called] conservative writer and pundit.)

You've got to approach this from a completely different perspective, almost as if it were "through the looking glass".

You'll call "my plan" preposterous, but it's very simple (I'm a simple kind of guy).

Closing questions:
Which of the following is more destructive to America today:
- the fact that we have so many agencies and government employees,
or...
- the jobs that they do each day at work?

If you can sort that out, the answer will be plain as day in front of you.

Do you realize that fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous Communist plot we have ever had to face?

I pointed out a legitimate point of the article that was missing which really makes a difference to the outcome of the story.

Are you so thin skinned you cannot hear any other side of the story?

If you want to hear only one side and become ignorant and stupid be my guest.

Some of you are  truly the  most misinformed people I have ever met. Some of you have been extremely gracious. Some of you are very knowledgeable

What is scary is some of you do know  how stupid and ignorant you really are and resistant to any change is outright painful to read.

Continue to run off people with a viewpoint other than your own

This site will continue to be a extremely small echo chamber and will eventually die.

Thank you Nancy for allowing me to express my opinion.

@mystery-ak

McDonald's?? I don't remember there being one when I was a kid.

I do remember my husband and I used to take Sunday drives once in awhile with the kids and sometimes if we had the money, we'd even stop for ice cream. That was always a real treat.
The first one in my hometown was established in 1959. My brother took me there to buy me a hamburger. I remember there was no drive-in service and no indoor seating. The line was so long they had a kid come out and take orders from the people waiting in line.
I remember the burger tasting pretty good. Better than my mother's. Because the MickeyD's burger actually had juice in it.
My mother cooked the bejeesus out of the meat we ate, so her burgers were more like hockey pucks than juicy meats. That's the way my father liked his meat, so all the beef we ate was well done. I mean WELL DONE!!! As in all the juice completely cooked out of it.
One of my sisters said that she never knew how good roast beef could taste until her future husband, who was and is still a good cook, made her one that was tender and juicy.
