The German government is coming under increasing pressure to offer the nation a roadmap out of the coronavirus crisis amid growing frustration over sluggish vaccination and testing programmes.

The health minister, Jens Spahn, told the Bundestag on Wednesday that the first effects of the vaccine rollout were “already being felt” in the 80s age group, which has received the majority of almost 5.4m vaccinations to have been administered.

But there is growing disgruntlement that Germany remains far behind countries such as Britain, Israel and the US.

The developer of the Pfizer vaccine, BioNTech is a German company. It's belated approval by the EU should PO Germans. Also, the deprecation of the British AZ vaccine is political backlash for Brexit, not a real concern.

Be sure to see the chart in the article. It shows how badly EU counties are pooing the screwch in their vaccination efforts. The UK and US are far ahead, partly due starting earlier, but the trajectories of the curves show that EU countries' efforts have other problems that cause them to fall farther and farther behind. BTW, Israel and the UAE are well ahead of the UK and US in their vaccination efforts. Were Canada, our neighbor to the north, on the chart, they would be ~1/2 of France's miserable effort.
