Roughly two dozen special guests will attend Tuesday’s State of the Union at the invitation of the White House, including veterans and first responders, cancer survivors, a mental health advocates and the parents of Tyre Nichols.
The list of guests who will sit in first lady Jill Biden’s box during President Biden’s speech, unveiled early Tuesday by the White House, features several individuals who highlight the administration’s priorities on reproductive rights, access to safe drinking water, immigration, the economy and gun violence.
Among the most high-profile guests who will attend Tuesday night’s address to Congress are Bono, the lead singer of U2 and a prominent HIV/AIDS activist; Paul Pelosi, the husband of Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) who is recovering from a violent October attack; and the parents of Nichols, the 29-year-old Black man who died last month after being beaten by Memphis police in an incident captured on video.
Biden is set to speak to a joint session of Congress at 9 p.m. EST.

The White House sent out a misleading “fact sheet” about the economy on Monday, one day before President Joe Biden is set to address the American people in the State of the Union.
The “fact sheet,” entitled “The Biden Economic Plan Is Working,” lays out how the Biden administration has shown economic “progress” over the past two years — a topic the president aims to highlight in his Tuesday night speech. Despite Biden declaring an economic victory over the deficit, a “manufacturing boom” and winning against “Big Pharma,” several of the “facts” are misleading claims.
“In the last two years, the Administration cut the deficit by more than $1.7 trillion—the largest deficit reduction in American history. The President believes we need to continue that progress—and reward work, not wealth,” the statement reads.
The deficit largely fell because of the expiration of COVID-19 funding, not due to the Biden administration’s efforts, Check Your Fact reported.
“Eighty percent of that $1.8 trillion or so falling deficit is because of expiring or waning COVID relief. The remaining 20% you can explain by economic changes, including a stronger than expected economy and especially higher inflation which leads to higher tax revenue,” Marc Goldwein, senior vice president and senior policy director for the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB), told Check Your Fact in a phone interview in September.

Of course, in Jeffries' mind, Democrats are on "team normal" while Republicans represent "team extreme."

Biden to call for unity in State of the Union — after year of White House bashing the GOP

WASHINGTON — President Biden will call for “unity” in his State of the Union speech Tuesday night — after spending much of last year bashing Republicans himself and through his press secretary.
White House officials teasing Biden’s 9 p.m. speech — which will also pitch tax hikes on the wealthy — told reporters Tuesday morning that he will dust off “unity” talking points from his State of the Union last year to argue that “members of both parties can come together and deliver for the American people.”
The so-called unity agenda focuses on four areas — cancer, mental health, veterans care and reducing drug overdoses — after Biden spent the past year villainizing Republicans and especially supporters of former President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again movement.
But the sincerity of his message is sure to be deemed suspect after another year in which Biden and his chief spokesperson, Karine Jean-Pierre, publicly bashed Republican legislators and conservative voices on a near-daily basis.
For example, Biden delivered a strident primetime speech in Philadelphia in September calling Trump and his allies “a threat to this country” after saying in August that the movement amounted to “semi-fascism.”
“The Republican Party today is dominated, driven and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans. And that is a threat to this country,” Biden said in Philadelphia as he made the message the centerpiece of Democrats’ midterm elections strategy.

The Founders included an annual report to Congress on the state of the union. Truman's 1947 address was the first to be televised, and in 1965 Lyndon Johnson turned it into the prime time shitshow we have today. A year later, in 1966, the opposition party's rebuttal began.

EXCLUSIVE: President Biden is expected to use his State of the Union address Tuesday night to lay out a "starkly different" plan for the economy than what House Republicans have proposed, and will reject specific GOP positions on taxes and social spending, Fox News has learned.
The president’s plan to show this contrast comes as the White House is also pushing Biden’s "Unity Agenda," and after his pledge to work in a bipartisan manner with GOP lawmakers.
Fox News obtained a memo from White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the State of the Union, which lays out how Biden plans to address the differences in his agenda versus plans rolled out by House Republicans.
"Tonight President Biden will demonstrate how to build on the historic progress he has achieved ensuring our economy works from the bottom-up and the middle out – not the top down," Bates wrote. "To finish the job he started in the first two years of his first term, the President will show the country a blueprint for how to sustain the manufacturing and jobs boom his agenda is fueling, keep fighting inflation and cutting costs, protect Medicare and Social Security, and continue bringing down the deficit by having the wealthy and big corporations pay more of their fair share."
Bates added: "Unfortunately, since taking the House, congressional Republicans have chosen a starkly different path: selling out working people with tax welfare for rich special interests that would heap $3 trillion onto the deficit, including with the biggest Medicare benefits cut in decades."

Good evening. I’m Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Being a mom to three young children taught me not to believe every story I hear. So forgive me for not believing much of anything I heard tonight from President Biden. From out-of-control inflation and violent crime to the dangerous border crisis and threat from China, Biden and the Democrats have failed you.
They know it. And you know it.
It’s time for a change.
Tonight, let us reaffirm our commitment to a timeless American idea: that government exists not to rule the people, but to serve the people.
Democrats want to rule us with more government control, but that is not who we are. America is the greatest country the world has ever known because we are the freest country the world has ever known, with a people who are strong and resilient.
Five months ago, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. It was a hard time for our family, particularly for our kids – Scarlett, Huck, and George – but we kept our faith and persevered.
Thanks to exceptional doctors here in Arkansas, a successful surgery, and the grace of God, I am cancer-free.
Through it all, I couldn’t help but think about my mom.

If you just listened to the first 10 or 20 minutes of President Joe Biden’s rambling State of the Union speech on Tuesday, there was plenty to loathe — although it was a pretty pro forma affair.
The quick version: Spending. Infrastructure. Spending. Infrastructure. Spending. Manufacturing. Spending. Inflation isn’t my fault. Spending. Tax the rich. Spending. Spending. Lots and lots of spending.
The stuff you really weren’t going to like was loaded toward the end of the speech, where most Americans likely figured they’d heard all they would hear from the president. That’s when he addressed Ukraine, the border crisis, the amorphous “threat to democracy” that Republicans pose, and a plea to pass legislation that would federalize the right to abortion on demand and to allow transgender therapies and procedures to be performed on minors.

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) shouted, “It’s your fault,” at President Joe Biden during the State of the Union Address when he raised concerns about fentanyl deaths.
“Fentanyl is killing more than 70,000 Americans a year,” Biden said before being interrupted by boos.
“It’s your fault,” Ogles yelled while Biden grinned at the Republican side of the aisle.
“Let’s launch a major surge to stop fentanyl production, sale, and trafficking, with more drug detection machines to inspect cargo and stop pills and powder at the border,” Biden continued. “Working with couriers like Fed Ex to inspect more packages for drugs. Strong penalties to crack down on fentanyl trafficking.”

Senator Joe Manchin votes with President Biden 88% of the time, and he votes with Chuck Schumer 92% of the time. When it comes to the innumerable ways President Biden has failed West Virginia and America – his failure to secure our border, his failure to defend American sovereignty, his failure to protect innocent unborn life, his attack on our Second Amendment rights, his failure to implement sound economic policies, and his failure to lead America at home and abroad – we will always remember that Joe Biden couldn’t have done any of it without Senator Joe Manchin.

The House erupted and Marjorie Taylor Greene called Biden out, yelling ‘You lie!’

During his State of the Union address, President Joe Biden made several notable claims. The Daily Signal team checked them out to see if the facts add up—or if some crucial context was missing.
1. Inflation Reduction Act and Health Care Costs
Biden touted the $740 billion spending bill Democrats dubbed the Inflation Reduction Act, claiming during his State of the Union address Tuesday night that the new law will decrease health care costs.
“With the Inflation Reduction Act that I signed into law, we’re taking on powerful interests to bring your health care costs down so you can sleep better at night,” the president said. “You know, we pay more for prescription drugs than any major country on Earth.”
Biden said big pharmaceutical companies could no longer make record profits by hiking up prices.
“This law also caps out-of-pocket drug costs for seniors on Medicare at a maximum $2,000 per year when there are in fact many drugs, like expensive cancer drugs, that can cost up to $10,000, $12,000, and $14,000 a year,” Biden said. “If drug prices rise faster than inflation, drug companies will have to pay Medicare back the difference.”

I think the problem is that SOTU used to be more or less positive messaging, so both sides were respectful. But when Biden falsely accuses Republicans of something, it looks like they agree if they just sit there and do nothing.

Don't misunderstand...I don't like the cat calling either. However, this behavior was started by the Dems. Nobody criticized them. Why should Biden be allowed to stand up and tell out right lies?
I just hope that if this deteriorates to professional wresting or boxing, we get some bigger and stronger participants. :laugh:
