Michael Sussmann Acquitted; Trial Revealed Clinton Role in Russia ‘Collusion’ Hoax
Former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann was acquitted Tuesday of lying to the FBI when he fed it false information about supposed “collusion” between then-candidate Donald Trump and Russia during the 2016 campaign.
Observers agreed that the evidence against Sussmann was convincing, but that he might prevail based on “jury nullification” — an effort by the jury to reject the charges, regardless of guilt, because of their political sympathies with the defendant.
Still, Durham succeeded in revealing that Clinton herself personally approved the leak of the Alfa Bank hoax to the media. The Alfa Bank hoax was intended as an “October surprise” to damage Trump in the days before voters headed to the polls.

When Republicans win back the Congress, they should use their constitutional power to disestablish the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Send the cases to the federal courts in VA and MD. Giving D.C. its own district court has been a disaster for justice.

Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley told "America Reports" on Tuesday that Special Counsel John Durham needs to show "mountain of evidence" of the limitations present in the trial of former Clinton campaign manager Michael Sussmann pertaining to the issues the jury involved in the case.
JONATHAN TURLEY: I think that Durham understood that he was in fairly adverse settings for this trial. But, you know, the people of good faith could question elements like materiality on this type of charge. But there is this striking contrast between how this trial was handled and prior trials under the Mueller investigation. One thing that came out of this that I did raise recently is the importance that John Durham produced a report.

You know, many Democrats came out and insisted that Mueller be allowed to not only produce a report, but release it unredacted. It's very important for John Durham to do the same thing, because the limitations on this trial, it really did indicate that there is a mountain of evidence that Durham has.

A DC jury nullified a proven charge of lying to the FBI when the defendant was a former Clinton aide (Sussmann), but a DC judge would not let the prosecution drop a case against a former Trump aide (Flynn) when the evidence collapsed. Rule of law does not exist in Washington D.C.
