Biden: ‘No Rational Basis’ For Purchasing High-Caliber Weapons
Returning to the White House on Memorial Day, President Biden said it “makes no sense” to legally purchase high-caliber weapons, adding that there’s “no rational basis for it in terms of self-protection, hunting.”

Biden just accidentally made the case for owning an AR.

GOP lawmakers torch Biden over suggested ban on 9mm pistols
Several Republican lawmakers blasted President Biden over his suggestion of banning 9mm handguns while speaking to a gaggle of reporters, with one pointing out that those guns are the "caliber of choice" for the Secret Service.
Biden turned heads Memorial Day when he claimed that the most popular caliber of gun in America was "high caliber" and that there was "no rational basis" for Americans to use the firearms for protecting themselves or even for "hunting."
The president also floated the suggestion of banning the guns outright.
"There’s simply no rational basis for it in terms of self-protection, hunting," Biden claimed on Monday while comparing the difference in damage caused between a 9mm round and a .22-caliber round.
"And remember: the Constitution, Second Amendment are never absolute," the president continued. **nononono*

Aside from the erroneous hyerbole that a '.22 would stop in a lung', and the 9mm would 'blow it out of someone', the 9mm is not a particularly high powered round. One of the reasons for its popularity is that recoil is manageable and it permits the shooter to get back on target for a follow up round. Properly placed, it will stop an assailant, with lethal results (so will a .22).
It has been not only the issue sidearm round of the US Military, but numerous Law Enforcement agencies worldwide, for the same reasons it is considered an adequate defensive round for civilians, if speaking of the 9X19 (Parabellum) round.
Ban them, and I'd just have to go with the .45 ACP or .44 Mag for self defense, or stuff the 12 gauge with rifled slugs and buckshot--or even depend on a nigher powered rifle.
BTW, he didn't say which 9mm round. Would that be the 9X18, 9X19 (Parabellum), 9X21, 9X23, or the 9mm Largo? There is a significant variation on power between that lot.

If 'they' are successful in banning 9mm you can bet they will also ban .45's and just about every other caliber. God help us all.

Of course. It's not like they'll stop.
Good to see you, btw!

Then things just might get interesting.
Yes, God help us if it comes to that, because the reason for the Second Amendment will have become plain.

Smokin' Joe sends out a puff o' smoke with:

If that happens...
... will it be time for that New Continental Congress yet...?

I'd be for adopting our Constitution, minus the 16th and 17th Amendments, and following it.
