Walker warns GOP 'at risk of a #BlueWave' after Democratic win in Wisconsin court race
The Democratic-backed candidate won a seat Tuesday on Wisconsin's Supreme Court, another warning signal for the GOP that led Republican Gov. Scott Walker to tweet that the party is "at risk of a #BlueWave" in November.
Liberal Rebecca Dallet trounced conservative Michael Screnock in the race for a 10-year term on the state's high court. Screnock conceded the race, and results continued to trickle in late Tuesday showing Dallet with a double-digit lead.
The candidates did not run with party affiliations. The state Democratic Party machinery worked to help Dallet win and reveled in her victory. It was the first time a liberal candidate who wasn't an incumbent had won a seat on the seven-member court in 23 years.
Walker, who is up for re-election to a third term next fall, tweeted that the results were another sign that the GOP is in trouble.
"Tonight's results show we are at risk of a #BlueWave in WI. The Far Left is driven by anger & hatred -- we must counter it with optimism & organization. Let's share our positive story with voters & win in November," he tweeted.

The Republican Party has only itself to blame.
The last 8 years have more than turned off their base, and I do not think they are going to forget all the broken promises and in-their-face betrayals.
The 'Vote for GOP or Communists will take over' scare-tactic is not going to fly this year.
And hopefully never again.
Because as recent history clearly illustrates, it makes no difference which party is in control. The Beast will continue to drive the country further off the Leftist cliff.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) on Tuesday warned that his state could see a wave of Democratic victories in the 2018 midterm elections, and pressed supporters to "counter" the "Far Left."
Walker's comments came after liberal Judge Rebecca Dallet overcame conservative Judge Michael Screnock in the race for a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat on Tuesday night.
"Tonight’s results show we are at risk of a #BlueWave in WI. The Far Left is driven by anger & hatred – we must counter it with optimism & organization," Walker, a Republican, tweeted. "Let’s share our positive story with voters & win in November."

The last time I remember a Wisconsin supreme court election making national news was the Prosser/Kloppenburg war of 2011, which came soon after the liberal revolt over Walker’s prized collective-bargaining reforms. The left was hyped for that race believing that a victory for the liberal Kloppenburg would signal to Walker and Republicans in the state legislature that there’d be electoral hell to pay if they didn’t abandon those reforms. Prosser won a tight race, though. The next year, Walker defeated the left’s bid to recall him as governor. Two years after that he beat them again, winning reelection. Two years after that, Trump shocked the world by edging past Hillary to win Wisconsin. It’s been a remarkable run of success for Republicans in a purple state.
But it crashed hard last night. Liberal Rebecca Dallet beat Walker-endorsed conservative Michael Screnock, and it wasn’t close:
It marked the first time in 23 years that a liberal candidate who wasn’t an incumbent won a seat on the high court…
With 88% of wards reporting, Dallet led Screnock 56% to 44%, according to unofficial returns…
The election will swing conservative control of the court from a comfortable 5-2 to a narrow 4-3. Dallet — to be seated in August for a 10-year term — will replace conservative Justice Michael Gableman, who did not seek re-election.

If GOP candidates and GOP leadership want to turn this "blue wave" into a self-fulfilled prophecy .... they should run on a platform separate from the President's and remove all reasons for his republican, democrat and independent voters to turn out for a midterm election.
Want a red wave? Run on the promise to support the President's agenda.
Oh, and stay away from candidate vote splits in the primaries in an effort to fit a square conservative into a round hole .... this never works. And in the name of God, stay away from republican candidates who defend dating pubescent females.

The Republican Party has dismissed and eschewed Principled Conservatives from their party.
No 'red wave' is possible, unless you count populists who embrace liberalism and statism as okay if the GOP does it.
Most Conservatives I know are done with the GOP and are not going to be voting for them this year, and likely never again.
