It’s no secret that thousands of small business owners are scaling back employees’ hours and aren’t hiring new workers because they can’t afford to comply with Obamacare mandates. What’s shocking is Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) thinks this is great news!
Two days ago, Teamster Leader, Jimmy Hoffa, Jr., said that Obamacare would “destroy the foundation of the 40-hour workweek.”
A CNN reporter asked Mrs. Pelosi to respond to the quote. She implied that people who work less could be “liberated” to enjoy life more! She said Americans would be “free” to “follow their passions” if they were working less and had “free” healthcare.

These statements prove that Pelosi is out of touch with 99 percent of Americans who make less than her. Her words also reveal that she doesn’t understand basic economic principles.
Most responsible Americans have to work 40 hours a week just to survive.
People use the money they earn working 40 hours a week to pay the outrageous taxes she advocates in addition to paying for basic needs like housing, utilities, food, shelter, and clothing.
Americans also incur other expenses that become basic depending on their job. If you need a car to get to work, as most people do; you have to pay for the car, plus car insurance, gas, and sometimes various auto repairs.
Many people also need some kind of communication to find and maintain employment – like a cell phone or computer. Those cost money too.
The education many citizens need to find gainful employment also isn’t cheap.
If people have less money to do any or all of the above, then people who provide those services also, in-turn, have less money to survive.
If everyone listened to Mrs. Pelosi’s gleefully uttered suggestions, the American economy and society would decay and eventually collapse. She either doesn’t realize that or just doesn’t care.
