Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts appeared to take a veiled jab at his new colleague Justice Neil Gorsuch during a conference in Pennsylvania this week, where he reiterated his longstanding aversion to solo opinions.
The comments suggest a hint of tension between the chief and the junior justice.
In remarks given at a judicial conference in Pennsylvania this week, Roberts reiterated his long-held view that the Court should speak with one voice wherever possible — that is to say, he supports a consensus-driven approach to opinion writing in which the justices strive for unanimity and avoid writing their own concurrences or dissents. In doing so, he appeared to rebuke Gorsuch, who has flashed a propensity for writing on his own in his first months as a justice.
“There’s a different level of collegiality though and that is to appreciate you are acting as a court, not as an individual,” he said.

That has become painfully obvious over the years. He is not at all the man we thought he was.
Still can't forget how he simply "made up" the utterly illogical ruling on Obamacare to save it, and then fled the country "on vacation" to escape the blow-back of his decision. So, not only is he a Democrat shill, he is a coward as well.

Yes it is. And his ruling was in contradiction to the argument of Obama's lawyers, and it contradicted the 'four corners' of the document itself.
He pulled that wacky, more or less illegal, ruling straight out of his butt. That was the end of any thought that he was an impartial judge.

Hell Roberts was so determined to rule unanimously in favor of the ACA that he rewrote Obama's argument himself.
This one SCOTUS pick alone made Trump a better president than Bush.

Which is odd.... because the previous week Roberts had been opposed to the ACA. He did a 180 degree flip for "some" reason.

Maybe if I posted something like, "Obama deemed to be the Greatest President in History".
Or I could try to find an article that says, "Trump eats live infants for breakfast!".
Maybe that would pass CC's meticulous scrutiny. LOL

One of the theories I heard about Roberts' Obamacare ruling is that he may have been coerced or bribed. That might explain why he twisted himself into a pretzel to come up with that idiotic opinion.
It's too bad there is no feasible way to remove Roberts from SCOTUS. If he is taking bribes, there is no way he would voluntarily leave and give up his "benefits."

Not Bush's fault really. Roberts flipped after he was installed. No one saw it coming. It was a surprise to very many people.

Roberts is a big disappointment. His decision about Obamacare was stunningly bad. He does tend to invent things as do the lefties.

Not only did he rewrite Obama's argument, but then he agreed with what he, himself, wrote and not with what Obama was presenting. He rewrote Obama's argument to make it what he, Roberts, thought that Obama should have been arguing, not what Obama was actually arguing. The single most bizarre ruling that I know of in the history of the Supreme Courts.
Can you imagine presenting a case before a judge, and the judge rejects your case. But, he then rewrites his own version of your case, and then rules in your favor based on the case he wrote for you in that he agrees with himself. Bizarre is putting it mildly.

I think Roberts was caught skirting Irish law to adopt the two kids he and his wife adopted.
