Hunter Biden to face grilling on business schemes in congressional deposition
By
Ashley Oliver
February 28, 2024 6:00 am
Hunter Biden is set to appear on Capitol Hill on Wednesday for a long-awaited deposition with House lawmakers, who are expected to question the first son on his years’ worth of international business dealings as part of their impeachment inquiry into his father.
The deposition with President Joe Biden’s son is set to take place at 10 a.m. before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees.
Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) described the deposition in a statement as a chance for the committees to grill Hunter Biden about his past habit of wielding his last name and his father’s political influence to secure lucrative business deals abroad. The chairman also indicated that lawmakers plan to examine what level of awareness Joe Biden had about his son’s business activity.
“We’ve documented how Joe Biden has met with nearly all of his son’s foreign business associates as they were collectively funneling millions to the Bidens,” Comer said Tuesday. “Our committees have the opportunity to depose Hunter Biden, a key witness in our impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden, about this record of evidence.”
Hunter Biden, the GOP’s most high-profile witness, is set to answer questions under oath from both Republican and Democratic lawmakers in a closed-door setting that could last several hours. James Biden, one of the president’s brothers, testified last week in an interview that stretched more than eight hours.

As expected, after just one hour, the Democrats are declaring that the deposition is a complete failure. It might be a tad premature like carrying the Super Bowl at the coin toss...

Hunter Biden Claims Dad’s Business Involvement Is ‘MAGA-Motivated Conspiracy’ Despite Evidence
Wendell Husebø 28 Feb 2024
Hunter Biden claimed Wednesday that his father’s involvement in the Biden business is merely a “MAGA-motivated conspiracy” despite mountains of evidence.
The evidence includes but is not limited to photos, texts, an audio recording, and IRS and former business partner whistleblower testimonies:
Biden family suspicious activity reports of wire transfers
The “Biden brand“
Twenty Joe Biden phone calls on speakerphone
Texts
Emails
WhatsApp messages
Photos of Joe with Hunter’s business partners
Joe Biden’s voicemail to Hunter
Five individuals referencing Joe Biden as the “big guy”
Two whistleblower testimonies
Video of Joe Biden bragging about firing the Ukrainian prosecutor
Hunter’s statements about giving half his income to his dad
Former White House aide saying FBI ignored Joe Biden’s role in Ukraine business dealings
Millions flowing into Biden family bank accounts
Hunter paying for Joe Biden’s expenses
Email aliases
The House investigation previously found a massive web of wire transfers, 20 shell companies, and associates who helped the Biden business rake in at least $24 million from foreign nationals over the course of approximately five years.
More evidence against President Joe Biden can be found here and here.
Hunter used careful language during an opening statement on Wednesday before the House impeachment inquiry to claim he did not involve Joe Biden, 81, in his business.
Hunter notably did not say Joe Biden was not involved in the business. “I did not involve my father in my business,” he claimed.

Yikes! @RepRaskin
and @danielsgoldman
dismiss the Washington, DC practice of using your well-connected family member to make money.
Raskin even calls it a common practice to put your family member on the phone with a potential busine$$ partner.
This is corruption. I don’t care if the DC types think it’s common practice.

We have to stop asking DC types to clean up the system they benefit from.
Send new people to DC - the current ones love the system.

Hunter Biden asks GOP: What about Jared Kushner?
by Mike Lillis - 02/28/24 3:10 PM ET
As Republicans grilled Hunter Biden on Wednesday about his business deals overseas, the president’s son turned the question back on his interrogators.
He asked GOP lawmakers about foreign investments secured by Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of former President Trump, shortly after he left the White House, according to Democrats participating in the closed-door deposition.
“He drew the distinction between what he has done in a business world with independent businessmen, versus foreign governments, which he did not do any business with — unlike Jared Kushner,” Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) said during a break in the testimony.
Among other roles, Kushner oversaw Middle East policy in the Trump White House, and he raised plenty of eyebrows when he secured a $2 billion investment from Saudi Arabia six months after leaving public service.
The scrutiny mounted further when The New York Times reported that the advisory panel for the Saudi sovereign wealth fund had recommended against investing in Kushner’s newly launched private equity firm, citing “the inexperience of the … management.” The advice was overruled by a larger board led by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, a close ally of the Trump administration.

Now that Hunter Biden is testifying I think this text message deserves a bit of an explanation. "I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father," he texted a Chinese business associate in 2017. Images from his laptop place him with Joe on the same day he sent this text.

Per source with direct knowledge, Hunter Biden said today that he was high or drunk when he sent the ‘sitting here with my father’ WhatsApp message, sent it to the wrong recipient, and is now embarrassed by the message. He confirmed that his dad was not sitting next to him.

That sure is odd. Because just three days after the text "was sent to wrong recipient", on August 2nd, 2017, a new company named Hudson West III was officially formed. CEFC affiliates injected $5,000,000 in capital to the new company. Meanwhile, Hunter contributed no capital to the new venture although he owned 50 percent of the newly established company.
The operating agreement of Hudson III stipulated that Hunter would receive a $500,000 retainer and $100,000 per month.
James Biden received $65,000 per month. This newly formed entity also made large credit card payments for items purchased by the Biden Family. The total payments made to Hunter’s personal company totaled $4.8 million in just over one year.
In addition to the $65,000 per month paid to James Biden, payments also flowed to Lion Hall Group, a company James owned.

BREAKING: Hunter Biden testifies he ‘did not involve’ his father in his businesses, calls impeachment inquiry ‘baseless’
That's right! He didn't have to do that because his father had been involved from day one!
