The one thing that kept going through my mind as I listened to Biden's angry, unfocused, and divisive rhetoric - which he shouted amidst a disturbingly familiar display of red and black imagery - was that he appears to define an entire class of Americans - Trump supporters - as something like what the Nazis referred to as "untermenschen" - subhumans.
As a conservative, an American and a Jewish man, perhaps I might be forgiven for not taking this lightly. And the fact that other supposedly smart Jewish people can't seem to remove their self-imposed blinders (I'm talking to you, Jonah Goldberg) to see what is actually occurring, is unsettling, to say the least.

This is a simple tactic.
The whole country is feeling the pinch, from the gas ump to the dinner table, everyone feels the uncertainty. In some areas, crime has skyrocketed, and that adds to the angst.
Of course Biden isn't about to take credit or blame for those problems which affect us all.
But he is seeking to harness the angst and refocus it on a new 'enemy', as if that new enemy is responsible for all the problems that remain unsaid.
This has been done before... notably, in Europe in the 1930s, but elsewhere when anyone needed an enemy to get the populace to hate so the people were oblivious to the real source of their problems and would focus their hatred on a scapegoat population.
From the Catholics of Cromwell's time to the Jews of Warsaw, we've all seen this shit before.

The White House did not hold back against journalists who described President Biden's anti-MAGA speech as "political."
Speaking in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia during remarks billed as his "Battle for the Soul of the Nation" speech Thursday night, Biden repeatedly slammed the "MAGA Republicans" and called out former President Trump by name as being threats to democracy.
The White House insisted it was not a campaign speech despite his partisan attacks and urging Americans to "vote, vote, vote!"
Many critics, including members of the establishment media, appeared shocked by the partisan nature of the primetime address.
Reuters White House correspondent Jeff Mason began his tweet by quoting the president's response to hecklers at his speech, writing, "'Good manners is nothing they’ve ever suffered from,' @POTUS says about protesters at his speech, in which he accused former President Trump and ‘MAGA Republicans’ of threatening the foundation of U.S. democracy. The White House said earlier today the speech was not political."
CBS News correspondent Ed O'Keefe similarly wrote, "Like or loathe what he said tonight, it should be noted: The president spoke tonight on the grounds of a national park, flanked by US Marines, and took direct, specific aim at his predecessor and members of the Republican Party. Another thing we don’t see everyday."

The White House on Friday defended the presence of U.S. Marines at President Biden’s speech in Philadelphia the previous evening, arguing their positioning during the prime-time speech was to demonstrate the president’s respect for service members.
“The presence of the Marines at the speech was intended to demonstrate the deep and abiding respect the president has for these service members to these ideals and the unique role our independent military plays in defending our democracy no matter which party is in power,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters.
Marines were stationed behind the president as he spoke on Thursday, drawing scrutiny over the use of the military during a speech centered around blasting former President Trump and warning that the former president and Republicans aligned with him are “a threat to this country.”
“Whatever you think of this speech, the military is supposed to be apolitical. Positioning Marines in uniform behind President Biden for a political speech flies in the face of that. It’s wrong when Democrats do it. It’s wrong when Republicans do it,” tweeted CNN anchor Brianna Keilar, whose husband is in the military.
White House officials have pushed back against criticism that the speech was overly political in nature.
“The president gave an important speech last night, a critical speech at an inflection point, and our democracy, our values, our values that our men and women who protect us every day and fight for every day believe in as well,” Jean-Pierre said Friday.
The White House spokeswoman maintained that “it’s not abnormal” to have military members during presidential speeches, pointing to Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush as previous presidents who also had service members on hand for speeches.
“It is not abnormal, it is actually normal, for presidents from either side of the aisle to give speeches in front of members of the military,” she said. “It is not an unusual sight, it is not an unusual event to have happened.”
Jean-Pierre reiterated the White House’s argument that Biden was simply recognizing the urgency of the issue in his remarks.
“Standing up for democracy is not political,” she said Friday.

The soldiers holding the guns and driving the vehicles are not going to attack their own citizens. I've talked to many of them about this same subject over many years. They all know they might not be ordered to attack their own families but they realize they will be ordered to attack someone's American family. They are all counting on the other military personnel to not attack their families. There are also quite a few retired and people that have got out of the military that know how to operate military equipment. They also know the vulnerabilities of the same equipment. The point being it won't be as easy for the military to take over the US as Traitor Joe and the Democrat Communist Party thinks it will be. If anything starts they will be the first targets to be eliminated.

Democrats want to use soldiers to be their domestic police enforcers, however they do not trust or even like American soldiers, especially armed American soldiers.
The only solution is for the Democrats is to bring in U.N. troops to enforce their outrageous illegal 'laws'.

The reality is once we begin to compromise on the small things it becomes increasingly hard to say no on the big things. Also, we become controlled by our fear. We fear losing all our possessions because we lost our jobs. We fear losing the acceptance of our neighbors because we disagreed. As a result we end up doing things we never thought we would.
Only later do we recognize how wrong our actions were, but by then the damage has already been done.

No, I have to disagree with you a bit on his being in the way. He was the voice for the movement...and led the fight from out front. But he is not himself "the movement", nor is he...or has he...been "in the way". Without him, the movement is still fighting for air...we needed a leader willing to take the beatings and who could deliver the movement to let it coalesce in to something more than it had been in scope and clarity. You are wrong to minimize his role in fighting back against government overlordship...in the face of brutal attacks and hatred....he took up that sword and showed us all how to fight the battle. All that said, no one man defines the movement...only we as conservative voters can do that. But we're fools if we demean those who are willing to fight on our behalf.

We'll cross that bridge if we must, but let's all hope we never have to. I've no desire to fight and kill my fellow Americans, nor to tear this country apart and turn us into a shattered shell...vulnerable to all those who hate us abroad. If it comes to that, we all lose more than any of us can imagine. The task of our generation and the next is to keep that from happening...not to prematurely call for blood and fire. Maybe we fail and that day comes, but I pray it does not.

I believe that any other republican who ran in ‘16, or who may run in ‘24, could not have accomplished focusing all that was just below the surface—the ancillary issues and the reaction of the establishment to him. In my opinion Tump is key to advancing what he began.

Thanks align, and I couldn't agree more. There are a few rising GOP leaders who can take up that banner and carry it forward in time...like Desantis...but Trump still has work to do, and if he can win in '24 he'll be in a unique position to make real change. After that, the next wave of MAGA leaders like Desantis will be in a good spot to carry on his legacy...and elevate it in a way that gives it generational staying power.
