A remote cabin hidden in the woods sounds like the perfect destination for some quiet reflection - and visitors to this clever retreat will be able to take a look at themselves in more ways than one.

Entrepreneurs Jake and Meghan Zoesch have built a lodge covered with mirrors deep in a Minnesota forest with the goal of creating 'a little slice of heaven' for people to rent out.

The cabin is made of triple-pane glass on three sides, creating a reflective surface on the outside while offering floor-to-ceiling views from inside.

The box has a special UV coating that is invisible to humans but can be seen by birds in an effort to prevent them from flying into it.

At 200 square feet the house is about one ninth of the size of an average home in the US, which is about 1,800 square feet according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis.

Despite this Meghan says the unit does not feel small because of the great views: 'It is so expansive with respect to what you can see.'

The property sits on a heart-shaped lake that is so removed from civilization that it does not have a name.

The location is part of the appeal: 'This place has it all. It has the view. It has the water. It has the privacy,' said Jake.
