Wow, I guess it cleared up because my daughter, SIL and grandson drove into Vegas around 9AM Saturday and they haven't said a word about problems.

Better get em on the telephone and see if you've gotta come get em, and whether to bring the duck boat or the pontoon.
No, really - I hope it's all good.

It is hard to believe that an inch of rain can cause so much trouble... It takes 7-10 inches to do much flooding around here.

Where you are is made to soak it up. In the desert that inch of rain is flash floods in arroyos. Even up in here, an inch of rain, you better be careful around the water, because it can come up quick. Although here, it may come up quick, but it's gone again quick.

This after storm report of deaths is just more weather porn designed to advance the global warming narrative. On any given day, in any given city, people die for various reasons; we really don’t know what caused these deaths on this night. in other words, weather news, like political news, is driven by an agenda.

The soil is very hard, little if any rain is absorbed and runs off, accumulating in washes and then accelerating downstream. Desert soil needs slow, light rains to allow for absorption. These monsoon storms are anything but and are not something to dismiss due to their real dangers.

Bone dry where I am in California, All I get is to watch the monsoon moisture pile up at the mountains before it rolls into Arizona and Nevada.
