Poll: More blame Trump and GOP for possible shutdown than Dems

Many more Americans blame President Trump and the GOP for the possible government shutdown looming Friday than Democrats, according to a new poll from the Washington Post and ABC News.
The poll found that 48 percent of respondents said that Trump and Republicans were responsible for a shutdown, compared to 28 percent who said Democrats are to blame.
Eighteen percent of respondents said that both parties are to blame.
The House passed a short-term funding proposal on Thursday, which Senate Democrats are largely opposed to because it does not include a fix to protect “Dreamers,†the young undocumented immigrants protected under the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program that Trump rescinded.
