El Chapo’s Attorney to Ted Cruz: ‘Ludicrous’ to Suggest Drug Kingpin Would Fund Wall
by KATHERINE RODRIGUEZ
17 Feb 2019
The attorney for convicted drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo†Guzman shot back at Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) idea to make his client pay for the wall along the U.S. southern border with Mexico, calling it “ludicrous.â€
“Sen. Cruz surely knows that the government has seized none — not a penny — of Mr. Guzman’s assets so getting him to pay for the wall is ludicrous,†Guzman’s attorney, Jeffrey Lichtman, told CNN.
“There’s a better chance of Mr. Cruz paying for the wall,†he added.

Where will the $8bn come from?
$1.4bn from the agreed budget
$600m from cash and assets seized from drug traffickers
$2.5bn from a defence department anti-drug trafficking fund
$3.5bn reallocated from military construction projects

Narco-money would already be used on the wall. Might double-check the stats, it's not a new idea.
