MTG and Massie Prepare to Strike, Will Force Johnson Expulsion Vote ‘Next Week’

Bradley Jaye 1 May 2024

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) earned the endorsement of House Democrat Leadership Tuesday. He will need to cash in on that endorsement only days later.

Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) announced to a packed press conference outside the Capitol Wednesday that they would force a vote on Greene’s motion to vacate “next week.”

With the Capitol dome behind them, Greene and Massie accused Johnson of “three betrayals” on government funding, allowing surveillance of American citizens, and funding Ukraine without first securing the border.

The move has long been expected, but Wednesday’s escalation makes clear Johnson’s perilous path toward maintaining his gavel — if not in the short term, certainly beyond November.

“This motion is wrong for the Republican Conference, wrong for the institution, and wrong for the country,” read a short Johnson statement issued after the announcement and a day after Johnson accused Greene of not being a serious lawmaker.

Yoga pants in Walmart... :terror: :scared smiley:
Why is it that the...most corpulent women(and some men) insist on wearing the tightest spandex or other elastic clothing possible? If they think it makes them look less obese I shudder at what they would be in regular clothing that at least would give some cover to their level of obesity. Also the times one of these crosses my path I am almost always left wondering how the hell they got into the damn things.

But don't you see, that's the whole problem, those 'rightwing extremists'? they're the producers taking their businesses and tax dollars out of Chitcago leaving poor little Brandon and the other socialists with less money to throw at their little socialist programs.

What is that old saying, Silence is compliance?

Or "Silence gives assent".

Will Democrat Jews still vote for the Dems after all this?

Nothing seems to wake them up.

Jewish people in the US are not homogeneous. IIRC, ~70% of Jewish people vote "D" in elections. My guess is that the current paroxysm of anti-Semitism will bring that % down into the 40s, with much/most of the change being among Orthodox and Conservative Jews (the religiously observant). Change among Reform and non-religious Jews will probably be slight at most.

That said, a 25%-30% shift among Jewish voters, like a 10%-20% shift among black voters, should be a matter of concern for the Dems.

If the DEMS succeed in turning either TX or FL blue, our country will be entirely gone.  They have a significant voting population and the invasion was indeed part of the plan to further the DEM stranglehold to retain control once and for all.

Anti-Israel protesters celebrate victory in deal with Brown University

Brown University on Tuesday reached an agreement with anti-Israel protesters on its Ivy League campus to end the encampment there.

Demonstrators said they would close their encampment in exchange for administrators taking a vote to consider divestment from Israel in October. The compromise appeared to mark the first time a U.S. college has agreed to vote on divestment in the wake of the protests.

“The devastation and loss of life in the Middle East has prompted many to call for meaningful change, while also raising real issues about how best to accomplish this,” Brown President Christina H. Paxton wrote in a message to campus.

“Brown has always prided itself on resolving differences through dialog, debate and listening to each other. I cannot condone the encampment, which was in violation of University policies. Also, I have been concerned about the escalation in inflammatory rhetoric that we have seen recently, and the increase in tensions at campuses across the country. I appreciate the sincere efforts on the part of our students to take steps to prevent further escalation.”

Anti-Israel activists on campus celebrated news of the deal, which brought an end to the encampment.

Last November, Paxton was caught omitting references to Jewish students on campus in a speech after she was heckled by pro-Palestinian activists.

With universities and other entities willing to pick sides and hand a victory over to mob rule demands, the country will continue to be divided.

Biden’s trying to dilute the angry, upset with his policies electorate in Florida with grateful Democrat voters

He may not turn Florida blue. But he hopes to turn it at least purple
