DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz believes Republican Darrell Issa cutting off the mic of Democrat Rep. Elijah Cummings is similar to dictatorial governments in Venezuela and Ukraine attempting to shut down the opposition.
After the MSNBC host expressed that she found it “beyond shocking and actually distressing” to see a congressman shut off another and then “brazenly defend himself as if he is on the path of the righteous, Wasserman Schultz launched into her hyperbolic critique:
In the last couple of weeks in which we have been, on both sides of the aisle, standing up for the rights of the oppressed, trying to make sure that in Venezuela, that dictators there aren’t shutting down the opposition—the same thing in the Ukraine. At the same time, you have a chairman of the Government Oversight Committee literally electronically cutting off the mic of the opposition to prevent him from having any say or participation in the hearing that was focused on an investigation that has been resolved, and that they are purely—and obviously, through the cutting off of Elijah Cummings' mic—purely proving that what they are doing here is just trying to continue to politicize this issue.
Wasserman Schultz goes on to argue that the issue should be a “settled matter,” that Obama condemned it and “heads rolled, as they should have,” but that Republicans are simply attempting once again to silence and obstruct the opposition.
Darrell Issa and the Republicans on that committee continue to try to use politics to bludgeon this administration and silence any debate or opposition, because they continue to bear hug obstructionism...
The segment ended with Wasserman Schultz agreeing that it was indeed a “distressing” day for American politics.

Someone ought to show her some vids of demo-nazis doing precisely the same thing. Or perhaps running that vid clip of Herr Obama saying "we won" in response to republican objections that he was cutting them out of discussion on Obamacare?
