Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee Dianne Feinstein is rejecting efforts by Chairman Chuck Grassley to hear from Christine Blasey Ford, the woman accusing Judge Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct during high school, in an open hearing Monday.
"Chairman Grassley said today there would be only two witnesses invited to testify at the Kavanaugh hearing next week on sexual assault allegations. Compare that to the 22 witnesses at the 1991 Anita Hill hearing and it's impossible to take this process seriously," Feinstein released in a statement. "What about other witnesses like Kavanaugh's friend Mark Judge? What about individuals who were previously told about the incident? What about experts who can speak to the effects of this kind of trauma on a victim? This is a another attempt by Republicans to rush this nomination and not fully vet Judge Kavanaugh."

I wonder. I wonder if it was Feinstein who created this whole thing and roped this Ford woman into her scheme. The reason Ford doesn't want to testify may be that she was not the true author of the so called letter and therefore does not want to have to defend it.
Did Feinstein and her staff create the letter and then find a willing dupe to claim it? It would be fun to ask Ford when, where, and exactly how she wrote the alleged 'letter' to Feinstein.

Maybe the best strategy for the GOP at this point is to give the Dems their delay on the confirmation vote of BK until after the election. Nothing would motivate the GOP to get out and vote in the senate midterms more than knowing the SCOTUS depends on it. Look at what happened in 2016.

The end game is to get him confirme by October 1, when SCOTUS goes back into session. Their end game is stop it.
Whatever circus happens in between, all that matters is the GOP sticks to their guns.

Except if the Repubs lose big in November...
I say, delay till Monday when the accuser and Kavanaugh are supposed to appear. If the chippy doesn't show, take the vote. If she shows and has no real evidence of wrongdoing, take the vote. Get it done and get it over with. Let the Dems squawk. I'd say the Repubs have done enough to appease the Dems. Giving into their demand for a thorough investigation and a long delay would be political suicide.
