Totally agree. Too many of the extremely wealthy and/or powerful think differently. They think they can indulge in whatever catches their eye without consequences.

Boeing Starliner to make another attempt at crewed flight test Friday

UPI By Chris Benson 5/7/2024

Starliner, the spacecraft Boeing designed to ferry astronauts to and from the International Space Station, is set to possibly take off Friday after a mechanical issue scrubbed Monday's attempt to take off.

A launch is set to possibly take place on Friday at 9 p.m. EDT barring any unforeseen issues.

Boeing's long-delayed first crewed Starliner mission was scheduled to launch Monday night at 10:34 p.m. EDT from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station for a 10-day test flight to certify the spacecraft for future manned space missions.

So idiotic, it takes an hour of grinding and fine tuning that Philips head screwdriver (in picture) and you have a "blade" if you wanted one. Take any chunk of metal worth it's weight and you can make a knife by grinding it down slowly (to not overheat it). Most every guy on this forum has took an old bastard file and played around w/it, making a knife out of it.

The stupid, it hurts.

Not in any way compare to today. back then most of these people had no information to go by. Today there are thousands of Invesment sites that give all the information you need.

Amateur investors are out performing many professional fund managers

But, as what I often see day to day,,,,   is that there are smart amateurs and dumb ones.

I had a guy who used to work for me that sank his company savings in late '90's dot coms.  End result?  He had to work to age 65 to get enough max lump sum pension to retire.

My Networth annual ROI was 27% from my start of investing in 1979 to retirement in 2012. I didn't bat 1.000, but did well enough only for the reason I over-analyzed every transaction, and remained disciplined with goals and results.

Trump will get all 40 electoral votes in Texas and Cruz is coasting in also.  So, it doesn't matter if I sit this one out too.
If I lived in a Swing State I would advocate for Trump.

I bought a Gerber multiblade over 20 years ago, to replace a SA knife that had worn out in 5 years.  Much prefer the Gerber.

:yowsa: I have one that is at least thirty years old and still in great shape.

Rocket Star Inc. has achieved a breakthrough in space propulsion technology by developing the Firear Fusion Drive, a pioneering system that merges plasma thruster technology with nuclear fusion. Scheduled for its inaugural real-world test aboard a SpaceX rocket in July, this innovation promises to boost thrust efficiency by an impressive 50%, potentially revolutionizing the landscape of space exploration.

At the heart of the Firear Fusion Drive lies a sophisticated fusion of plasma thruster and nuclear fusion technologies; Unlike conventional plasma thrusters that rely solely on ionized gas for propulsion, this novel system introduces a fusion reaction between boron and protons derived from ionized water. This reaction generates an unstable carbon isotope, which decays into helium nuclei, releasing substantial energy to propel the spacecraft forward.

One of the standout features of the Firear Fusion Drive is its application of boron-proton fusion, which eliminates harmful neutron radiation, making it safer for spacecraft materials and astronauts. This fusion method utilizes readily available ionized water as a proton source, providing higher thrust and improved efficiency.

I was a manager for a large oil company.  I don't think many outsiders are going do any control as far as this matter.
