Dominion sues Rudy Giuliani for $1.3B over 'viral disinformation campaign'

Dominion Voting Systems filed a defamation lawsuit against former President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, seeking more than $1.3 billion in damages for what the voting machine company called the former New York City mayor’s “viral disinformation campaign†against them in the wake of the 2020 presidential election.
Giuliani was one of the key lawyers in Trump’s efforts to “Stop the Steal†and contest the race that he lost to President Biden, making unsubstantiated claims of widespread and massive voter fraud and pushing wild allegations about Dominion. Biden defeated Trump 306-232 in the Electoral College.
“Acting in concert with allies and media outlets that were determined to promote a false preconceived narrative about the 2020 election, Giuliani launched a viral disinformation campaign about Dominion that reached millions of people and caused enormous harm to Dominion,†the company claimed in a 107-page complaint filed Monday. “As a direct, foreseeable, and intentional result of that viral disinformation campaign, Dominion has suffered the following single and indivisible injuries: Dominion employees have been stalked, have been harassed, and have received death threats; Dominion has been forced to make an expenditure of money to remedy the defamation and to protect the lives of its employees; Dominion has lost profits; and Dominion’s reputation has been irreparably damaged.â€
Dominion sent Giuliani a notice of his obligation to preserve documents related to Dominion back on Dec. 22, and, after the storming of the U.S. Capitol, it sent him a follow-up letter on Jan. 10 about the “recent violence and your continued defamatory claims about Dominion.â€

Giuliani Fires Back at “Act of Intimidation†$1.3Bn Dominion Suit.
Former New York Mayor and National Pulse Patriot of the Year 2020 Rudy Giuliani has fired back at election technology giant Dominion following the threat of a $1.3bn lawsuit.
Dominion – whose employees donate almost exclusively to Democratic Party candidates – had threatened the suit against Giuliani and even quoted Adolf Hitler in their public statement on the matter:
“Just as Giuliani and his allies intended, the Big Lie went viral on social media as people tweeted, retweeted, and raged that Dominion had stolen their votes. While some lies — little lies — flare up on social media and die with the next news cycle, the Big Lie was different,†lawyers for Dominion wrote in the lawsuit, filed in DC District Court on Monday morning.
“The harm to Dominion’s business and reputation is unprecedented and irreparable because of how fervently millions of people believe it.â€
“The Big Lie†was coined by Hitler to attack German Jews ahead of World War II.
Now, Giuliani is firing back.

Dominion Voting was rejected by the Texas Secretary of State for use in elections in 2013 and 2019 over a plethora of issues which led it to fail basic tests for reliability and accuracy.

This will be a fun case to watch. But since the rats are surely counting on Dominion to rig future elections I do not think they will be anxious to actually pursue it. They've got too much to lose in Discovery.
