Title: Music Thread- Song Covers that are better than the original version

But, what exactly is the point of recreating a monumental classic virtually identical as it was? Your version will not supplant the original in cultural zeitgeist. The original was just too impactful. To the contrary, you are best off recording something obscure with minimal history.

Highly subjective but there are some notable ones. Some original artists even remade their original be more like the cover Like this 1st one originally by Tears for Fears:

So true. I quess the TH Droning on version is good if you have no musical taste. :shrug:

No offense to you, but I have had to hear that song every day at work for the past God knows how many years.

Basically I'm getting drilled with this message that there's nothing I can do about my loneliness (and I've been lonely for many years—but that's grist for another thread) when what I need is a reason for hope.

And then this blasted song comes on again and I want to bash my head into the counter!

Bach achieved his sounds naturally, not through sonic manipulation which Stokowski was very fond of.
