‘Orban Next!’ Pro-Ukraine Accounts Celebrate Assassination Attempt on Slovak PM Fico.

Pro-Ukraine social media accounts are cheering the shooting of Robert Fico, the Prime Minister of Slovakia. The 59-year-old European Union (EU) and NATO leader, an ally of Hungary’s Viktor Orban, has opposed continuing to fund the Western proxy war with Russia in Ukraine, as well as the sanctions duel that has disrupted European energy supplies while having no meaningful impact on Russia’s growing economy.

“Hero!” declared one user of the suspect. He posted a separate message asking, “Victor [sic] Orban you watching?” — as if to suggest the Trump ally, who also opposes open-ended support for Ukraine, will be shot if he doesn’t change his stance.

Other users echoed this sentiment, with one user posting “Orban should take notice” and many users, often with the Ukrainian flag by their name, posting messages reading “Orban next” or “Orban is next.”  ... https://thenationalpulse.com/2024/05/15/orban-next-pro-ukraine-accounts-celebrate-assassination-attempt-on-slovak-pm-fico/?feed_id=4916&_unique_id=6644f883b42bc

Biden grieves with police officers ahead of anticipated Trump endorsements

President Joe Biden appealed to the families of fallen police officers during the annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service at the U.S. Capitol.

“I admire your courage in being here, and I hope you take comfort in the knowledge that their sacrifice will never be forgotten,” Biden told the crowd on Wednesday.

Biden also reflected on the deaths of his wife Neilia, daughter Naomi, and son Beau, describing his grief as “that black hole in the middle of your chest.”

Biden’s address coincides with expectations that Biden’s 2024 Republican general election opponent, former President Donald Trump, will be endorsed by many police unions before November’s contest.

During his speech at the 40th service, Biden spoke of paying his respects to the families of the four law enforcement officers who were killed by Terry Clark Hughes Jr., 39, in Charlotte, North Carolina, last month as they tried to serve felony arrest warrants on him.

Despite Biden’s support of police officers, he has had an uneasy relationship with law enforcement, exacerbated by calls during the 2020 election to defund departments across the country. For instance, he was criticized in March for not attending the funeral of New York City Police Department Officer Jonathan Diller, who was shot dead during a traffic stop in Queens. Trump made an appearance at the Diller funeral, held the week of Biden’s million-dollar fundraiser with former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

“As the president says, we must do more to protect our brave men and women in law enforcement,” the White House said earlier Wednesday. “That means funding for more officers, more detectives, and more technology — so officers have what they need to do their jobs safely and protect us, and taking additional action to counter gun violence.”

Four reasons Biden wants to control debate rules

President Joe Biden agreed to debates with former President Donald Trump ahead of their rematch in November, but the president rejected proposals from the traditional debate commission in favor of writing his own rules.

The Commission on Presidential Debates has organized debates for the leading presidential candidates ahead of general elections since the 1988 election between George H.W. Bush and Michael Dukakis.

Jen O’Malley Dillon, Biden campaign chairwoman, outlined in a letter to the Commission on Presidential Debates why the president is refusing to go along with its proposed rules, arguing they are “out of step with changes in the structure of our elections and the interests of voters.”

Here are the Biden campaign’s main points for why it wants a different structure for the debates against Trump.

Republicans mock Biden for debate video edits and question fitness to face Trump

Republican lawmakers are calling into question President Joe Biden’s mental acuity after he accepted an invitation to debate former President Donald Trump, suggesting the incumbent president will be unable to form coherent arguments onstage in front of an audience.

Biden challenged Trump to accept the debates in a video posted on X on Wednesday morning, claiming the former president “lost two debates to me” when they first ran against each other in 2020. However, many Republicans ripped into the 14-second video for its edits, which critics said prove Biden won’t be able to perform in a high-stakes debate.

“Biden’s video has 5 cuts in 13 seconds,” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) said in a post on X. “What will Biden do in a debate when his many handlers can’t edit and splice his sentences together[?]”

The Trump campaign also criticized the video, calling it a “total disaster.”

“In a super short 14 second video, the Biden campaign needed to do 5 jump cuts because Crooked Joe couldn’t deliver a clean reading,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said in a post on X.

Michael Cohen’s ex-lawyer accuses him of lying during Trump trial testimony

A lawyer who once worked for Michael Cohen accused him on Wednesday of perjuring himself during his testimony this week in former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial.

Bob Costello, a longtime criminal defense attorney, told Congress that when Cohen took the stand on Tuesday and accused Costello of pressuring him to stay quiet about Trump in 2018, he was lying.

“I read Michael Cohen’s testimony from yesterday’s trial in New York on the way down on the train, and virtually every statement he made about me is another lie,” Costello said

Trump should demand that nobody he debates be allowed to use an earpiece, including the Democrat moderators.
It would genuinely make the debate more fair and more interesting.

Trump Campaign Challenges Biden to ‘One Debate Per Month’

The Trump campaign challenged President Joe Biden to “one debate per month” for June-September, which it says will allow voters to “have maximum exposure to the records and future visions of each candidate.”
