Vice President Biden is challenging President Obama on the basketball court, and doing it in a very Biden-esque way.

"I may be a white boy, but I can jump," Biden said Tuesday during an event honoring African-American History Month.

Biden made the comment after acknowledging the presence of Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, a former professional basketball player.

"I told the President, 'next game I have him,'" Biden said of Johnson, before citing his own jumping skills.
This is how he honors African-American History Month?   :nometalk:

He is such an idiot. They must be extra desperate to send him out to pimp Obamacare and say idiotic things.

UDel player #10: What an idiot!

Mayor Kevin Johnson is about to turn 48 years old and last played in an NBA game 14 years ago. That’s good enough for Vice President Joe Biden.

Biden told reporters at a Black History Month event on Tuesday that he wants to team up with Johnson the next time he takes on President Obama in a basketball game.

“I told the president, next game, I’ve got him,” Biden said, according to The Washington Post. “I may be a white boy, but I can jump.”

For his part, Johnson seem flattered.

“A game with @JoeBiden and POTUS (President of the United States)? I may just have to come out of retirement!” the mayor Tweeted.

So this is how far we've sunk.  **nononono*

He probably had a lot of practice under Valerie. When she says jump, he asks, "How high?"

It appears that Joe believes black folk are high-jumpin' basketball playahs.   Well, okay!

Maybe it's my age, but this remark didn't bother me a bit.

It's what you'd expect a politician to say when he's trying to get down with the homeys.

I may be giving Biden too much credit, but there is a pop-culture point of reference for what he said, and it's what I thought of when I read this thread title.

Reading some of the earlier posts, I disagree.  Plus, what is this Geico you speak of?   :tongue2:

Clearly, Joe was referring to the title of the Harrelson movie. It's still a silly and undignified thing to say, but I guess we don't expect much of the vice president of the United States anymore.

In what could go down as the most embarrassing moment of the Obama administration, the President and Vice President starred in a video to promote The First Lady's “Lets Move” campaign.

In honor of the 4th anniversary of the campaign, both men showed off their jogging skills while running around the White House grounds in suits (sans jacket), ties and dress shoes.  Michelle Obama has asked others to “show off their moves,” which spawned the idea of the painful video.

The two men stretch, drink water and then make their way back to the Oval Office where Obama says, "After a good workout, you gotta drink up.  Otherwise, we’re going to be in trouble with Jill and Michelle.”

The best part is at the end when Obama asks Biden:

“Same time next week?”
