Kash Patel: Senior Military Officials Intentionally Delayed National Guard Deployment on January 6th
Rusty Weiss
8–10 minutes

People at the highest levels of government reportedly bypassed a direct, lawful command from President Trump because they were concerned about "optics."

Kash Patel, former chief of staff at the Department of Defense under President Donald Trump, insists recent closed-door congressional testimony demonstrates people at the highest levels of government willfully ignored an authorization by the former president to deploy troops to the Capitol on January 6th.

A New York Times article published last week outlines interviews and a public hearing with the House Administration Committee by multiple members of the Guard. The revelations can potentially dismantle the prevailing insurrection narrative in the media and shed light on political manipulations at the highest levels of government.

Ryan D. McCarthy, the Secretary of the Army at the time of the Capitol protest, according to the testimony, failed to deploy the National Guard to help Capitol Police restore order and instead “made a series of phone calls to lawmakers and members of the media.”

McCarthy was reportedly phoned three times with a request to deploy members by Gen. William J. Walker, then the commander of the D.C. Guard.

New York Post
By Victor Nava

A Florida congressman announced Monday that he has formally introduced articles of impeachment against President Biden over his threat to cut off some military aid for Israel.

Rep. Cory Mills called it an illegal “abuse of power” and “quid pro quo” for Biden to condition the shipment of certain military firepower to the Jewish state on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shelving plans to invade Rafah.

“As a member of the House of Representatives, it is my constitutional duty to present articles of impeachment against Joe Biden for his most recent abuse of power,” Mills said in a statement.

“In violation of his oath to faithfully execute the office of President and to uphold the Constitution, President Biden abused the powers of his office by soliciting a ‘quid pro quo’ with Israel while leveraging vital military aid for policy changes.

Biden Campaign Desperation Sets in, Now Saying the Polls Are Fake
Bonchie
~3 minutes

The Biden campaign has a new explanation for its current position in the 2024 election: The polls are fake.

In a complete turnaround from their prior attitude, Joe Biden's handlers are no longer touting survey results but are attacking them. The latest triggering occurred after The New York Times released a series of battleground polls showing Donald Trump leading by large margins in more than enough swing states to deliver a Republican victory in November. That included Nevada, a state Biden won in the contest four years prior.

The Biden-Harris HQ wasn't amused by the numbers, and after MSNBC's Morning Joe reported the results (with some panic mixed in), they responded with the following post.

"Does anyone think Donald Trump is leading in Nevada by double digits, seriously," the over-caffeinated staffer furiously typed in the face of yet another disastrous round of polling for the president. It's incredible seeing the same people who insisted the polls were trustworthy now trash them when it's convenient.

Now, do I think Trump is leading Nevada by 13 points? Probably not, but that's not what's relevant. When you are analyzing polls, you can't simply throw out the polls you don't like as "slanted" while touting the ones you do, at least when talking about non-partisan pollsters. That's called "unskewing," and it's produced terrible results in the past (ironically, for Republicans).

Scoop: Kari Lake plans $10M ad blitz in Arizona Senate race

Stephen Neukam

Arizona Republican Kari Lake is making her first major advertising move in her 2024 Senate campaign, Axios has learned.

Why it matters: Lake so far has been outspent and out-raised by her Democratic opponent, Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), in a race that could decide control of the Senate.

Lake's campaign plans to reserve $10 million in ads for the fall, a source familiar with the plans told Axios.
That spending will start with a statewide $675,000 ad buy for May, which will focus on immigration and the southern border.
The ad will run on cable, broadcast and digital in Arizona.

Between the lines: The focus on immigration in the first ad reflects the Lake campaign's strategy to keep the border as a top issue in the election.

The Lake team sees the border as a vulnerability for Gallego, who has taken a harsher stance on immigration over the past year.
But the Gallego campaign has already been up with millions in advertising, much of it focused around Lake's past support for an abortion ban in the state.
The Gallego campaign placed a $19 million ad buy, an eye-popping number for a Senate candidate.

The arsenal of democracy is running low on gunpowder

While the fallout from the war in Ukraine maintains its standing among our national headlines, there’s a critical issue that hasn’t yet reached the nightly news: in the middle of the largest land war since World War II and a substantial conflict in the Middle East, the United States is running low on modern gunpowder.

The United States has long held on to air, sea, and land superiority over our adversaries because of our arsenal, technological advancements, and the incredible achievements of our service members. However, the war in Ukraine and supply-sourcing complications have placed a significant strain on our ability to produce modern gunpowder. As a result, nitrocellulose, or “guncotton,” a key production material for modern gunpowder, is becoming increasingly scarce here at home.

Just how concerned should we be? Amid growing conflicts abroad, the lag in supply is an alarming national security concern. Even at levels six times current production, it would take years to replenish U.S. ammunition arsenals, according to researchers. That creates real vulnerabilities in our military capabilities.

After a double betrayal fails to sway Israel, the Biden administration tries extortion

With friends like President Joe Biden, who needs enemies?

In a report released to Congress on Friday, the Biden administration concluded it was “reasonable to assess” that Israel had violated international humanitarian law using U.S. arms in Gaza. Although the report states that U.S. officials were unable to “link specific U.S. weapons to individual strikes by Israeli forces in Gaza” due to “wartime conditions,” it claims that “there have been sufficient reported incidents to raise serious concerns.”

The following sentence tells you all you need to know: “[T]he State Department has received reporting from multiple credible UN and non-governmental sources on alleged human rights violations by Israeli forces during the reporting period.”

The Washington Post reported that Biden ordered the investigation in February after congressional Democrats, led by Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), proposed legislation to determine whether the Israel Defense Forces had used U.S.-provided arms in an unlawful manner in Gaza.

This report comes just days after Biden paused a shipment of 3,500 bombs to Israel to deter them from invading Rafah, Hamas’s last stronghold in Gaza. Unless and until Israel can eliminate Hamas’s four remaining battalions in Rafah and the group’s leaders who are believed to be hiding there, they cannot defeat Hamas.

Biden to quadruple tariffs on Chinese EVs as he works to outfox Trump
By

.

President Joe Biden is upping the ante in his trade war with China — and with former President Donald Trump.

Biden opposed Chinese tariffs during the 2020 election but is now not only matching but exceeding Trump’s tariffs on the world’s second-biggest economy.

“The president is taking important enforcement action to raise tariffs in key sectors under Section 301 of our trade laws that will make sure that historic investments in jobs spurred by President Biden’s actions are not undercut by a flood of unfairly underpriced exports from China,” National Economic Council Director Lael Brainard said Monday.

The Biden administration has announced it will raise tariffs on certain Chinese steel and aluminum products from 7.25% to 25% this year, on electric vehicles from 25% to 100%, and on semiconductors from 25% to 50% next year.

“American workers and businesses can outcompete anyone — as long as they have fair competition,” reads a fact sheet announcing the changes. “But for too long, China’s government has used unfair, non-market practices.”

Those changes, the White House says, have led to Chinese firms controlling up to 90% of global production for some goods. The administration says the tariffs, in addition to legislation like the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill Biden signed in 2021, will succeed where Trump’s tariffs did not.
