North Korea defection: Footage of moment soldier flees

He is almost caught by North Korean troops, who shoot at him several times, before he is rescued by South Korean soldiers.

You can see the blood trail on IR when they drag him away. He's lucky to still be alive.

Just repeating:
That soldier who was shot and in stable condition, one of the bullets tore his intestines open and they found a bunch of parasites. This seems common with the people there, a serious condition. I'm sure there are plenty of these "parasites" around, now that it is mentioned.

It is common, because the people there who eat regularly are getting food grown in unprocessed humanure.

@edpc
I think I read or heard he lost half his blood. Thanks for your informative comments.
But he's in stable condition now, there is an article out where they say he's a "nice guy".

He’s probably not the only one. Little by little, information from the outside world has been filtering into North Korea, so the average person has an idea of the lies they are being told by leadership. I suspect if the armistice ever broke, there will be mass defections and surrenders, rather than rabid, brainwashed hordes throwing themselves at coalition forces.

I sense that even injured as badly as he was, the guy is going to be much better off now.
Hope he didn't have family -- they're probably going to be killed.
