It is no surprise the 'pubbies would fail again to pass meaningful reform.

Maybe Musk has learned a thing or two from Trump.

Will the threat of primarying them get their butts in gear?

Or will they not take it seriously?

An awful lot of people who have voted Republican have done so because they had no palatable alternative. I'm with the 22%, waiting on more info.

I wouldn't be to quick to dismiss the impact of the BBB on the deficit. We aren't going to know the impact of deregulation, tariffs, and deportations for a couple years.

I agree that the Pubs really missed a great opportunity hiding behind the parliamentarian's skirt and they could have done a lot more but we did get a lot of victories in the BBB.

Make it make sense?  Well...all the hurricanes last year and the floods, the current floods .... are they an act of God or manipulated weather??

I'm not convinced that weather can be manipulated.  If so, what other countries have that capability?? Or, are we to believe that the U.S. is the only country that has that ability?

MTG is out there sometimes.  Though I agree with her, and I want clean air and sunshine as do most people, though the issue has been politicized and the GOP has been blamed for wanting dirty air, etc., which is just plain absurd.

MTG has become it seems the GOP's equivalent to AOC.

“Unexpected fireworks” in Shebekino: Russian chemical plant goes up in flames after drone strike

Last night, a drone strike hit the “Selena” chemical plant in Shebekino, Belgorod region — just a few kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The facility quickly caught fire, sending smoke plumes into the night sky.

“Selena” specializes in industrial chemicals and polymers, including substances used in plastics and coatings. It’s also located within Russia’s strategically important industrial belt near the border.

Authorities, as usual, are "investigating the cause."
But let’s be honest — when drones are flying and chemical plants start glowing, the math isn’t hard.

No civilian injuries reported. Just another bad day for Russia’s “peaceful industry.”

Trump satisfied with Zelensky call, suggests Patriot missiles still possible for Ukraine despite deliveries halt

In contrast, the US President expressed sharp frustration with Vladimir Putin after their phone call that preceded Zelenskyy’s, telling reporters the Russian leader rejected ceasefire discussions and “wants to continue killing people.”

Vira Kravchuk  |  05/07/2025

US President Donald Trump described his recent phone conversation with Vladimir Putin as “disappointing” while praising his follow-up call with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy as “very good and strategic.”

This comes as Russia intensified drone and missile strikes on Ukrainian cities and the US temporarily suspended some arms deliveries to Ukraine, including missiles for Patriot air defense systems, citing concerns that American stockpiles were running low. Despite peace talks in May and June, no ceasefire or peace agreement has been reached. Trump’s conversations with Putin and Zelenskyy reflect the stalled diplomatic efforts, with Putin showing no willingness to halt the war and Trump acknowledging the lack of breakthroughs.

Trump spoke with Zelenskyy on 4 July and told journalists aboard Air Force One that he was pleased with this recent conversation.

Zelenskyy described their discussion as a “very important and fruitful conversation” covering Ukraine’s air defense needs, joint defense production and “mutual procurement and investment.”

Trump echoed the positive tone, telling reporters: “I think it was a very good conversation, a very strategic conversation.”

What did Trump say about continued military aid? Despite the pause, he indicated support would resume: “We have been helping them and will continue to help.” However, it is unclear what kind of support he is referring to here.

When pressed specifically about Patriot air defense systems, Trump suggested the possibility remained open, responding “Yes, maybe” to questions about future deliveries.  .  .

Russia to Involve Laos Troops in Its War Against Ukraine. Here’s What We Know

Roman Kohanets  |  Jul 05, 2025  |  14:15

Kremlin is organizing the deployment of up to 50 Lao sapper troops to clear landmines in Russia’s Kursk region under the guise of humanitarian assistance, a move Kyiv says is intended to legitimize the presence of foreign combat-support forces on Russian soil, as stated in the latest Ukraine’s Military Intelligence Directorate (HUR) report.

“Russia, hiding behind humanitarian rhetoric, is trying to legalize the presence of a foreign military contingent on its territory, effectively using it to support combat operations against Ukraine,” the intelligence directorate stated.

In addition to the mass recruitment of mercenaries from African and Asian countries and units from North Korea, the Kremlin is exploring the possibility of involving so-called partners under the pretext of implementing humanitarian projects in Russia’s border regions with Ukraine.

According to HUR, Moscow is now organizing a combined engineering detachment from the Lao People’s Army to conduct mine-clearing operations in the Kursk region.  .  .  .

That's 50 Laotians who will be assuming combat roles inside Ukraine within two weeks of leaving Vientiane.

I would hate to think the New Braunfels city officials would take 'this' time to test the Emergency Sirens.

Though this property is 2 blocks from the intersection of the Comal/Guadalupe River and I don't have Home Insurance I'm high enough elevation, both physically and mentally, to bypass most of the damage.

 :0001:

I've been concerned about you and I hope you avoid any flooding.  Prayers.
