Here are the 96 Sears and Kmart stores that are closing next
Transform Holdco, the company formed in January to buy the remaining assets of bankrupt retailer Sears Holdings Corp., disclosed late Thursday a list of the next Sears and Kmart stores to close by the end of February.
Going-out-of-business sales in the 96 stores — 51 Sears and 45 Kmart — slated to close will begin Dec. 2, Transform said in a statement.
After the closures, the company SHLDQ, -7.65% will operate 182 stores and “will continue to evaluate our Sears and Kmart footprint,†it said in a statement.
There is a list of stores being close farther down in the article. Five years ago, there were three Sears stores in Silicon Valley: Vallco mall in Cupertino; Oakridge Mall in south San Jose; Eastridge Mall in east San Jose. Only Eastridge is still open, and that location (and the San Bruno location) is on the closure list. The nearest Sears store to Silicon Valley will be Hayward, and Salinas. Los Angeles and Orange Counties are also going to see quite a few closures.

Just one in AZ, Prescott. Must be a K-Mart. There are hardly any left here, maybe 3 K-Marts in all of Phoenix.

It's a Sears. They list the Sears locations first, followed by K-Mart (one in AZ, Lake Havasu City).

There used to be a Sears on Camelback near 20th St., but it looks like it's (long?) gone. The freeway wasn't there when I lived in the area.
