This is why Hillary Clinton isn’t ’50 points ahead’ — or even 10 points ahead
By Aaron Blake September 22 at 3:30 PM

“Why aren’t I 50 points ahead?” Hillary Clinton asked rhetorically on Wednesday, echoing a question she surely gets all the time — and perhaps legitimately wonders herself.

It’s a question that seems to come up over and over again among left-leaning Americans: How, given all of the things — they would argue racist and sexist — that Donald Trump has said, is this race as close as it seems? How has an experienced politician like Clinton not buried her opponent by now?

Some blame the media for taking it too easy on Trump and giving him all kinds of free publicity — or for not calling him out more directly for telling lies. But that theory ignores that fact that Trump has been, and remains, the most unpopular presidential candidate in modern American history. As many as two-thirds of Americans don’t like him.

And yet, he’s still close. Why? Why is Clinton not much further ahead in a race that her supporters — and many in the media — thought was un-lose-able?

A few reasons:

From the article:

"In fact, the most recent Washington Post-ABC News poll showed about as many registered voters had an unfavorable opinion of her (59 percent) as disliked Trump (60 percent)"

Let that sink in...

Our two major party candidates are BOTH disliked by a majority of the voters.

And the Trumpettes have a hard time understanding how someone can be both #NeverHillary *and* #NeverTrump at the same time.

Sheesh.

Am a reluctant Trump supporter,  but yes,  I do have a hard time understanding how someone can be ambivalent about a very grave and dire threat from a psychotic socialist hag versus a boorish shady businessman.

Hitlery is a natural despot who has already misused the power of government to deliberately hurt people.   She will attack conservatives with all the forces of government she can command,  while Trump will not do this because he has no animosity towards conservatives.

Why would anyone want to put themselves or their families through the sort of vicious governmental assault upon them and their beliefs that Hillary would initiate?

Why would anyone want to suffer through the experience of a female Hitler?

Full throated Trump supporter here and if you don't mind me saying, your half hearted position in support of voting for Mr. Trump is either short sighted or misinformed.

In my opinion, Donald Trump will be a very good president -- perhaps even one of the best of the last 75-years. Everything in his history supports my conclusion. Of course others, especially here at TBR, will disagree, since it has become predominantly a hate-Trump-and-his-supporters website since after accepting so many of Free Republic's refuse. I am sorry to see you've chosen such a weak line of reasoning in defense of Donald Trump.

Anyway, I can't imagine what it will look like here at TBR in the weeks after Donald Trump wins the presidency. Should be interesting to watch the weird mix of effusive bravado and outright dissonance from the overwhelming number of resident Donald Trump haters.

Your condescension and sexual innuendo is duly noted. Just so you know, since you are politically oblivious, that such comment as you made is usually seen by politically astute observers as a weak and pathetic excuse to cover your inadequacies, fear of failure and loss of control. Sorry to remind you, but Ted Cruz lost and Donald Trump is poised to win the presidency. I know, I know. Reality is such a bitch.

But, thanks for playing and providing an illustrative insulting response by a typical Cruz loser, at NeverTrumper central. Your useful idiot services are appreciated.

Sorry Aligned, We all can't worship the ass you kiss.   It's a cruel world.  Deal with it, or die an angry old man.

Trump is not a conservative ideologue.   I am,  and I wanted someone who was not only intelligent,  but also a conservative philosopher of natural law.

Trump may very well make a great President,  and I am reassured by his lists of judges he has  proffered.

He will certainly be better than Hillary,  which is where in my opinion  the  focus of our conversations should be.

This right here:

Quote
How, given all of the things — they would argue racist and sexist — that Donald Trump has said, is this race as close as it seems?

The leftists, who seem to disdain all things spiritual - except for Islam - are the harpies sitting on the corner in priestly robes and hats morally judging everyone while yelling Slut! and Heretic! and Blasphemer!. Yet they despise anyone - except for Muslims - expressing any contrary moral opinion at all.

Meanwhile, the economy sucks, we are drowning in debt, the govt seems up in your face everywhere you turn, our liberties are being taken away, yet the liberals are stuck on social and moral issues in complete hypocrisy to their constant complaining that right-wingers are always stuck on social and moral issues.

Then to close the deal they excuse the very behavior they supposedly disdain, with complete hypocrisy.  Particularly Hillary, who seems to crave total power while having her hand in everyone's wallet, and getting filthy rich while scolding you about your privilege and excess. People are seeing thru it.

Not that Trump is much better, but he doesn't make claims of being holy and righteous. Which is the reverse of how it usually is.

Trump is an unfortunate mutant. If he received a sudden visit from the angel of death, he would not be missed.
