I'm thinking about songs featuring percussion or have famous drum parts, and wondering what people like, hoping to find some I haven't heard...

Some famous examples that I like...

Looks like what has been referred to as an aqua weasel.
Or a necrophiliac, serial-killing fur monster of the sea (https://www.vox.com/2014/4/24/5640890/9-questions-about-otters-you-were-too-embarrassed-to-ask).
Or maybe a river variety.

Thanks, @Free Vulcan! Great ones!

Couple more. I know Van Halen is overplayed and cliched, but Alex Van Halen was a top skilled drummer in his prime. Alot of unique work. We had a so-called band back in high school. I sucked at guitar, but my buddy was actually pretty good at drums. He said one of the hardest VH songs to play was 'I'll Wait' of 1984 because it was very deceptively simple and alot more nuanced to pull off.

Mick Fleetwod could also do some real subtle but complex stuff. Just love the beat he lays down here in Rhiannon and all the changeup.

Last is the Stewart Copeland from the Police. The guy can do polyrythms with no apparent effort.

I saw this recently... famous beat from My Sharona explained by Bruce Gary (RIP).

...and for obscure... technically percussion... Ruth Underwood:

Actually, ANY percussionist that worked for Zappa is worth checking out, highly technical, Frank demanded the best. Terry Bozzio's intensity has always amazed me:

Great stuff, all. Thanks!

While I enjoyed all the videos, my favorite drummers remain Neil Peart and Richard John Cyril Allen.
And the little furry otter on the garbage lids!!!!
****drummer
Give it up for the otter dude! Still better than Ringo!
(But Ringo would be better than me)

Tony Williams played a set of drums painted yellow.
He was (and still is) so revered by drummers that after he died it was considered bad form to play yellow drums, Unless, you could live up to Tony's abilities, which no one could.

I always liked how Chris Sharock filled the gaps for the Icicle Works and various other bands. The band was good to give him a free hand.
