Numerous advisories were issued Tuesday along the Jersey Shore as a storm on the verge of becoming a tropical cyclone makes its way north.

    High Surf ADVISORY in effect for:
    Atlantic Coastal Cape May, NJ
    Coastal Atlantic, NJ
    Coastal Ocean, NJ
    Wind ADVISORY in effect for:
    Cape May, NJ
    Coastal Atlantic, NJ
    Rip Current STATEMENT in effect for:
    Atlantic Coastal Cape May, NJ
    Coastal Atlantic, NJ
    Coastal Ocean, NJ
    Eastern Monmouth, NJ

    Rough surf as tropical cyclone nears Jersey Shore

EDISON -

Numerous advisories were issued Tuesday along the Jersey Shore as a storm on the verge of becoming a tropical cyclone makes its way north.

The following advisories are in effect until Wednesday morning:

    High surf advisory for Atlantic Coastal Cape May, Coastal Atlantic and Coastal Ocean
    Wind advisory for Atlantic Coastal Cape May, Cape May and Coastal Atlantic

A high rip current risk will also be present along the shore Tuesday, News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist James Gregorio said. Waves in the surf zone could reach 8 feet with a swell period around eight seconds.
