Iconic viking warrior was a woman, DNA test confirms

The remains of a 10th century Viking warrior buried in Birka, Sweden have proven to be those of a woman, thanks to DNA evidence.
The warrior was discovered in the late 19th century by Swedish archaeologist Hjalmar Stolpe and the remains were assumed to be those of a man as they were buried with weapons, horses, and other military paraphernalia.

THE spectacular burial seemed to be straight out of the Norse sagas.
It held the remains of a tall Viking warrior. Carefully arrayed alongside the body was a full suite of heavy weaponry. Two expensive horses had been sacrificed as part of the internment ritual.
There was even an elaborate game set, including board and pieces, set carefully on the deceased’s lap.

You can't assume sex via DNA anymore...
That's so yesterday...
Isn't it a crime in some places to assume what sex someone is these days??? It only matters how they identify...
