Suit: MI Counties Have More Registered Voters Than Eligible Citizens
Brianna Lyman
The Republican National Committee (RNC) filed a lawsuit Wednesday against Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, alleging the state’s voter rolls are inflated with ineligible voters.
The suit claims that 53 of the state’s 83 counties have more registered voters than they do residents who are eligible to vote. Twenty-three other counties also allegedly have “suspiciously high” voter registration rates of 90 percent or more, which does not comport with the nationwide voter registration rate, according to the suit.
The RNC sent a letter to Benson in December notifying the state of “78 Michigan counties that are in violation of section 8 and formally requesting that they correct the violations within 90 days,” the lawsuit notes.
Section 8 of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) requires states to maintain accurate voter registration rolls and to have a program in place that works to remove ineligible voters from the rolls in the instance of death or an address change.

Wasn't this the state that had some early Wednesday precincts breaking 95/5 for Biden?

Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch has similarly used HAVA to force states to clean up their rolls. Until now the GOP has mostly been absentee on this strategy and instead directed it to things like flowers and limo rides.

Considering.... The GOP has had 3 1/2 years to at least clean up Swing States around voter roll dead people concerns. Asleep at the switch again?

This is one of the things that infuriated me in my time with the GOP. Republicans always say we are a nation of laws - then freakin' use them dammit!
Rats aren't that hard to beat if you get organized and put up a fight.

My town sends out a yearly voter census form to all registered voters in January. If they don't respond, they get removed from the voter rolls.

THAT's the way to do it.
This ought to be part of the U.S. Constitution (that voting rules were left to the states was an oversight by the Founders that has become a major factor to the current destruction of the USA).

I'm just glad they're looking at it prior to December.

@catfish1957
They don't want to piss-off their business partners because it might get them cut-out of future"deals".

Georgia also has more registered voters than it has people eligible to vote.
