DARIEN GAP, Panama—The ripe smell of garbage baking in the tropical sun mixed with the stench of human waste is one of the first things visitors notice at Bajo Chiquito, one of four large migrant camps in the Darién Gap.

The next is a sea of weary migrants, who hiked from Colombia along the infamous jungle trail, lined up to be processed by Panamanian officials.

One young boy in line with a furrowed brow seems worried. Others stare blankly at ramshackle buildings slapped together with wood, tin, and cinder blocks. They wait patiently in the brutal heat and humidity.

Most of them are coming to the United States aided by the United Nations, its nongovernmental partners, and regimes hostile to the United States.

Experts have said the migrants are being used as a weapon, just as deadly as a missile aimed straight at the United States.

The former Riverside County Sheriff’s deputy who was allegedly caught with more than 100 pounds of fentanyl pills last year was nabbed as part of a high-profile investigation into the cartel once led by the drug lord known as “El Chapo,” according to a report in the Press-Enterprise.

Banning resident Jorge Oceguera-Rocha, 25, resigned his position as a correctional deputy after his arrest in September 2023.

According to officials, he was driving his private vehicle in Calimesa when he was pulled over. Inside his car, investigators say they found a gun and 104 pounds of fentanyl pills.

Investigators did not detail how they learned of Oceguera-Rocha’s alleged involvement in drug trafficking, but now it’s apparent that he was the “corrupt Riverside County Correctional Deputy” mentioned in a Wednesday press release touting Operation Hotline Bling, the Press-Enterprise explained.

WATCH: Mexican Authorities Battle Migrants on Train at US Border

May 3, 2024

Mexican immigration officials tried to force migrants off a cargo train arriving in a city along the U.S. border during a wild scene caught on camera, according to reports.

On Friday, Mexican journalist Pedro Ultreras published footage on social media purportedly showing authorities trying to eject a group of migrants from the top of train car near Piedras Negras, Coahuila, located directly across from Eagle Pass, Texas.

“Agents from the Mexican Immigration Institute [INM] try to force dozens of migrants off the train they call ‘The Beast,'” Ultreras explained in a post on social media.

“Record-Breaking” Week In Northern Border Sector Amid “Unprecedented Number” of Illegal Crossings

May 3, 2024

During the final week of April, USBP agents from Champlain Station in New York apprehended 220 illegal border crossers, marking the “highest number ever encountered in a single week in Swanton Sector history,” Swanton Sector Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia announced on Tuesday.

A trio of illegal aliens were found hiding in the woods in Mooers, NY, this week, presumably after crossing from Quebec.

Last week, three Mexican citizens were caught near Highgate, Vermont, after Canadian authorities alerted USBP about an illegal crossing.

March was the busiest month in history in Swanton Sector, as 1,109 illegal aliens from 40 countries were apprehended.

SAN DIEGO (Border Report) — Baja California Attorney General Maria Elena Andrade Ramírez has confirmed the bodies recovered in a 50-foot-deep well Friday are that of brothers Jake and Callum Robinson of Australia and Jack Carter Rhoad of San Diego

Andrade Ramírez’s office issued a news release Sunday evening stating “families of the victims had positively identified” their loved ones.

On Sunday morning she had said the bodies recovered from the well were in an “advanced state of decomposition” and DNA testing would be required, something that is now moot according to Baja’s attorney general.

Missing surfers — 1 American, 2 Australians — found dead in Baja
It appears the three men were victims of a robbery, and when they resisted giving up their truck, they were shot and killed, and then dumped into the well.

Certainly, something as disgusting as this is no reason for the government to take control of the border. *****rollingeyes*****

San Diego residents await trial in connection to separate DEA seizures of fentanyl, meth and assault rifles

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – A federal judge has set a June 3 trial hearing for San Diego women investigators allege recruited minors to smuggle drugs from Mexico in their bodies through the pedestrian lane of a border crossing.

Shannon Pollard and Amy Lennen are facing charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine while armed with a firearm. The charges stem from seizures at a public storage facility and a home in San Diego of 46.1 pounds of methamphetamine, 4,493 fentanyl pills, four AR-15 rifles, two AK-47 rifles, a .22-caliber gun, a disabled grenade and multiple stolen passports and drivers’ licenses last November.

The Drug Enforcement Administration began investigating the women after an informant allegedly told agents Lennen offered to sell methamphetamine at $1,300 a pound to a known narcotics distributor, federal court documents show.
