Taos County, New Mexico (CNN)Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe walked out of a CNN interview after defending his decision not to search a squalid New Mexico compound for a missing boy, despite having the property owners' permission to comb it.
The sheriff has been criticized by the owners of the property where the compound sits illegally. Jason and Tanya Badger believe a missing child, 3-year old Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj, may have been alive on the compound when they say they alerted law enforcement months ago.
The Badgers gave written consent for a search, but it was August 3 before authorities moved in, finding 11 malnourished children and five adults. The adults have been charged with child abuse. The body of a young child was discovered days later but has not yet been positively identified.

The Sheriff seems like a straight shooter, following proper procedure. Since this is a CNN story, I didn't expect to read why he walked out, but there was probably some badgering by the reporter about the reported child that probably died. Meanwhile, even this story admits the FBI knew about this since May.

The police were there to clear the place out and not analyze it.
I seem to recall reading that they went in when they did because the FBI was dragging its feet. I won't swear to that recall.

Correct the FBI did not want to bust the terrorist training camp. The FBI wants more school
shootings to promote their anti-gun agenda. This Sheriff department did it job, the FBI is a
national disgrace.

This clarifies why the Sheriff got involved. He had a complaint from the landowner. It doesn't sound like he much cared about the FBI.

The FBI is too busy preparing for Bruce Ohr's testimony before Congress. Fighting crime is simply not on their agenda right now.

Too busy going after Trump and trying to cover their azzes, also.

I saw a commentator on Fox who wondered why the sheriff waited so long to go in. Said he had plenty of cause well before they acted.
