President of Britain? Biden Formally Reprimands Boris for Not Caving to EU

Jack Montgomery 10 Jun 2021

Joe Biden has issued a formal reprimand to Boris Johnson for not rolling over to the European Union on whether or not it should continue to dictate what happens in the British province of Northern Ireland despite Brexit.

Although Biden’s surname traces its roots back to English settlers, he publicly self-identifies as an American-Irishman. Indeed, he often plays up the stereotype of the Irishman as congenitally anti-British, for example by declining to give a comment to the British Broadcasting Corporation with the words “The BBC? I’m Irish” shortly after his election, and has taken it upon himself to intervene in disputes between Britain and the EU, of which the Republic of Ireland is a member, on Brussels’ side.

Now it is reported that Biden has instructed the Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires of the United States to the United Kingdom, Yael Lempert, to issue a so-called démarche of the sort normally reserved for geopolitical foes such as Belarus or North Korea to the Lord Frost, Britain’s chief Brexit negotiator, expressing “great concern” over British policy “slowly and gravely”.

Britain and Brussels are currently at loggerheads over the EU’s insistence that the British government impose internal borders between Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom restricting the movement of foodstuffs, in particular, across the Irish Sea, with eurocrats insisting that this is the only way that the border between Northern Ireland and the EU Ireland can remain open. The impact of such a move would mean effectively hiving off part of the United Kingdom — an affront to a sovereign nation — to appease Brussels.

Biden has from early on taken the EU’s side in this dispute, with Lempert now implying that the British are “inflaming” the situation and pressing them to accept “unpopular compromises” in order to deter the terrorist Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) from abandoning the so-called “peace process” and resuming its deadly campaign against British military personnel, police officers, elected officials, and ordinary citizens, including schoolchildren and even people paying their respects to the fallen at war memorials.

How about worrying about things that really are the concern of the US, Joe?

Get real.  Biden is clueless, and he has no idea what to do beyond eating his ice cream.

I am sure Johnson said FY to Biden.  Brexit was a good thing for Britain.  The EU is slowly dying a death of a thousand cuts.

See, this is the difference between Trump and Biden. Trump knew he was president of the US.

Boris wanted to talk to Biden about a possible US-UK led commission on COVID origins, no UN meddling. But Biden derailed that conversation quickly turned into BLM in the UK and Pride month, per WH official

And after 46 left Boris told advisors the UK would do it without the US if Biden can’t make up his mind

Apprently in their meeting Biden brought up a phone call about sharing vaccine doses with Boris early on in the spring while the pandemic was hitting, but Boris was confused bc Biden wasn’t President then and the call had never happened, per WH official

Probably said "Sod off" and LIEden wondered why Johnson thought his lawn needed replacing.

The EU was as doomed to failure as the UN.

Why does Britain have to do anything outside the Good Friday Accords?  It's Ireland that's in the EU.  Make Ireland do the EU's heavy lifting.

I can imagine what Boris Johnson is thinking.  "You came to the UK and fondled the first 14-year-old girl you saw, and then groped my pretty wife and passed it off with an inappropriate quip.  Have a nice cup of 'F**k-Off'."

If one compares the UKs daily new cases chart here, https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/uk/ , to that of France, https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/france/ , one will notice that something happened in the EU during March and April very different from what was happening at the same time in the UK. IMO, that horrible difference was due to the EU delaying starting and getting serious about vaccinations - a "gift" from EU bureaucracy that the UK missed, courtesy of Brexit and taking vaccination seriously.
