i.e...  I'm down 10-20 points in the all the polls, and this was a way to save face, and blame the political climate instead of my failures as a senator, and as a candiate.

Both of the reasonable democrats will be gone as of January.

Great! Let's fill those seats with Republicans. Conservative ones.

"Bipartisan"....Unipartisan...

Sometimes NOT getting things done is the preferred outcome.

And Compromise, when always done by the same side, just reeks of capitulation.

So....GIT!

There is no such thing as a "reasonable" Democrat. The last of them (Zell Miller) departed years ago.

Did Ms. Sinema say to what she racked up her decision?

Great! Let's fill those seats with Republicans. Conservative ones.

In Arizona we have a bomb thrower who told the swing voters to get out the party, quite literally.  It's an open seat and she has a chance, but I just don't see her reconciling with the McCain tribe.  The Arizona GOP is trumpy while the state in general is not.
West Virginia will probably send Jim Justice to the senate, if he survives until inauguration day.  He is an improvement over Joe Manchin, but not particularly conservative.

These two have allowed the filibuster to remain in place, and the supreme court to remain unpacked.  Assuming Kamala Harris remains president of the senate, the republicans might lose the filibuster even if they gain a seat.

Which is why candidate quality is important.

I believe in her statement she made a clean breast of it.

It just got a lot tougher for Kari Lake.

What's that saying?
"Cui bono?"

Let's parse this out.

In a 3-way race, Sinema would have lost to either Lake or Gallego.
She'd be out any campaign money she raises. Perhaps even in debt.
The DCommunists could lose the seat (if Lake ekes out a plurality).
Neither Sinema nor the DComs benefit.

In a 2-way race (without Sinema), there's a very good chance Gallego will beat Lake.
The DCommunists win the seat, finalizing Arizona's status as a blue state.
Sinema is spared an embarrassing loss (perhaps financial debts, as well).
Both the DComs and Sinema (slightly) benefit.

While Sinema may have considered withdrawing on her own, I sense (one of those things you don't know but would certainly seem plausible) that the DCommunists have made her "an offa she can't refuse"...  to step away and give them a more certain shot at the seat.

Lake lost once (to outright fraud, when the Pubbies were still in nominal control of Arizona).
Do you really, really believe with the DComs now in control there, that they'll let her win a second state-wide race?

(I'd enjoy being proven wrong, but I call 'em as I see 'em, and that's how I see this one going...)

I agree with your analysis.  Kari's election just got a lot tougher.

Great! Let's fill those seats with Republicans. Conservative ones.

Your only problem here is that it looks like Ruben Gallego (a.k.a. certifiable left-wing whackjob), will kick Kari Lakes butt.

Lake did nothing for herself with that stunt that sent DeWitt packing.

In this case, Sinema bailed out the GOP on several occasions.

She is to be thanked....a great deal.

The GOP could not win a senate race in GEORGIA.  Tell me how that happens.  Talk about fools and incompetence.

Screw any attitude that says she isn't a GOP hero.

My guess is that she is into the big bucks now.

If she ran, I'd vote for her over Lake.

She's better than Lake.....by far.

I can remember the era of Scoop Jackson and Sam Nunn, where there were actuallly demoocrats who existed that could be respected.

Sam Nunn would be a great republican today in many circled when compared to super-morons like Gallego.

Troll alert!!!

I don't think Hiker Guy is a troll, but he was apparently the one singular Briefer who endorsed the Biden/Senate Immigration Bill fiasco.

I believe the Democrat is a woke bleep, is beloved by their base, and is leading. So careful what you wish for, guys.

Our girl is busy mending fences with the swing voters:

Kari Lake
@KariLake 6h
Reports: Nimrata Haley will suspend her campaign today after more humiliating, landslide loses on Super Tuesday.

We'd be lucky if that was all he was.

He is a hard-core left-wing whackjob.  And we are going to hand him the seat.

How is saying I'd vote for Sinema over Lake trolling ?  Answer: It isn't.

I said it wasn't a bad deal and you guys were more worried about what "might" happen.  O.K.  Fair enough.

My big issue with the whole thing was that the GOP endorsed the negotiation, and then slammed the door on the bill.  No discussion.  Now, I can get that Schumer made it hard for them not to.

But was there ever any question he would do that ?  If not, why did they bother and come off looking so poorly.

That was my big issue.
