GOP chairwoman rips Omarosa over taping Kelly: 'If she broke the law, she should be prosecuted'

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel on Sunday suggested former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman may face criminal charges for recording Chief of Staff John Kelly in the situation room.
"Who in their right mind thinks it's appropriate to secretly record the White House chief of staff in the Situation Room?" McDaniel asked in a tweet.
"Secretly recording conversations in the Situation Room isn't just wildly inappropriate, it's a threat to our national security. If she broke federal law, she should be prosecuted," she added in a subsequent tweet.
Newman appeared Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press," where she played a recording she made of Kelly firing her from her job late last year. She explained that she made the recording secretly while the two spoke in the White House situation room.

Does it hurt your feelings as a supporter when I point out Trump's flaws? I have a right to insult failure. Maybe the problem isn't me @Right_in_Virginia .

What if you went into a secure meeting about new developments at Motorola, or Intel, or Apple, and recorded the meeting. Then you post it on a website. The world would explode. This is called espionage. That is what she was doing.
Secretly recording Trump or Kelly is crazy. This is what every spy on Earth dreams of doing. And she did it.
I hereby award her the medal of honor. She did something no Russian spy could ever do.

The Situation Room is not.
I'd bet that's why Kelly took her to that specific location for that conversation: Precisely because electronic devices are verboten there. While I think this is a pretty serious breach, I think she'll get off any charges from it. Trump would be seen as "Picking on poor, poor Omarosa because she spoke out against him."
He'll be called a Nazi for it. I'll put an extra $10 on it.

But isn't that "single party recording consent" only applicable to regular citizens... not to government employees recording another (high-level) government employee AT the White House? And I would think it violates several agreements that Omar had to sign for employment.
But, going after her legally would be spun as "Trump hates blacks and especially black women." Not true, but since when did truth ever matter to the idiot left press.
